I said the same awhile back and got scorn, but he is looking more and more like him. It's actually amazing how someone with his ability at 6'10 gets this much scorn.
Except he is the primary playmaker on this Duke team currently. If you think he only makes a nice pass or a couple of assist you are not really watching.
If he were 100lbs lighter and 2 inches taller we could call him a unicorn - of course he'd have to camp out at the 3 pt line all game while Cherokee Parks scored all the points for the team.
that’s not saying much…he’s not a primary playmaker in the NBA or someone that can run your offense if u think that he is, then Idk what you’re watching
Currently he is and has been the entire tournament. The offense runs through him, playmaking is about more than assist.
Wait what? You said all he does is have a nice pass here and a couple of assist, He is the primary playmaker on this Duke team and that encompasses more than you gave him credit. Nobody said he would be a primary playmaker in the NBA or someone that could run an offense, I think he could do it in spurts but not primarily.
I'll tune into the Purdue game tonight and watch closely. Maybe I'll jump aboard. Right now I'm kinda indifferent as to who we draft. The only guy I'm not too fond of is Jabari Smith. I just don't feel like you take a guy that is (elite) 3&D this high into the draft. You kinda want to find a superstar playmaker or dominant 2 way wing. While Smith's defense may be good (I haven't watched enough) I do not like that he can't really create a shot or go to the rim consistently.
We’re talking about projection to NBA, if one of his strengths doesn’t translate to the NBA that’s an issue.
Man you dropped a tremendous amount of stealth shade in once sentence. Talk about efficiency. Doesn’t even matter if you prefer TS% or EFG% The Cherokee Parks callback made me laugh among other things and earned you a well deserved like.
Yea, none of those skills translate at all to the NBA - does If you don't think the ability to put the ball in his hands in a half court set and have him break down most 5's or go through most 4's in the league isn't an asset then what is it?
the entire convo has been about whether or not he can be a primary playmaker in the NBA…u brought it to him being Duke’s primary playmaker…him being the primary playmaker at Duke says more about the rest of the guys the same way Julius Randle leading the Knicks in assists and creating the most plays says more about the rest of the guys lack of playmaking ability than it does about him
This does not make sense, why would his play making not translate? You are making even less sense. How can primary not happen in half court sets. Are you trying to say he is not doing this in the half court, when he did all of it in the half court last night?
Did I say his whole team is just a bunch of bums? I said there is no great playmaker there to where Banchero being the primary playmaker is impressive, especially when he won’t be able to be that in the NBA
