Bespoke comparison. Both very fluid for their size, but not jump-out-of-the-gym athletic, and really skilled scorers. Okafor was a much better rim protector and Paolo can shoot ofc.
banchero had a pretty good game offensively but roach did a great job dictating the offense and breaking down ttech pressure and mark williams was huge on both ends. all of the duke starters were pretty solid. can't just say it was banchero who had all the impact - it was a nice team effort.
Can Banchero play small forward or purely the big slots. still don’t love the fact that he’s not there defensively where Chet is. At some point you have to have defense.
I think Blake was a little ahead of his time. If he played with a stretch 5 and stayed healthy he would’ve been dominant as a face up 4. All those knee surgeries and having T-Rex arms hurt his longevity more than anything.
He has the tweener thing goin on. Won’t be quick enough to guard SF’s but they won’t be able to guard him either. I’d put him primary at the 4 and use him at small ball 5 to exploit certain matchups.
Injuries derail careers no matter how talented the player. Penny Hardaway was one of the best pure basketball talents ever and he was washed at 30. Bill Walton was a two way player with great bball iq and was a shadow of himself at that age.
What’s cf thinking tonight? One game doesn’t mean shhhh but it also shows how weak u are in big situations. Like @Bobbythegreat said, draft all u of H players at this point. I’m still leaning Jabari and Ivey. Most NBA ready. I’ve also been so wrong with these draft evaluations so feel free to kill me if I’m wrong.
I didn’t watch Banchero play tonight. Few plays only. He just gives me that Blake college vibe and nothing more. Scares me.
He’s also really high on Cole Kane, but that guy isn’t even projected to be drafted, probably won’t even sniff the league.
I don't remember Emeka Okafor ever dribbling the basketball, or shooting threes. Really strange comparison. Okafor was actually way closer to Mark Williams than Paulo.
I mean, he was a 6-time all-star and a damn good player on some damn good teams in his prime. Banchero clearly has more in his bag on offense. He often looks like a SF out there. With Blake, he always looked like more of a D'Antoni Center than a Forward. The biggest mistake they made with prime Blake was always playing him with DeAndre Jordan, and not spreading the floor so he could go full Amare. Don't forget that Blake played 2 years of college basketball. Banchero reminds me more of Jayson Tatum than Blake Griffin. A lot depends on the development of his jumpshot.
Shut your mouth… Ivey and Chet are my personal choice for best players in this draft. Who doesn’t like cocaine? It won’t get you drafted though.
Give me any of the top 4. I like em all. I think I'll leave it at that and from this point just wait to see what they do irl.
Yea I am gonna be okay with anyone in the top 4. Looks like a crap shoot at this point. 5th pick would be a major dissapointment.
