He's going to be an elite scorer for sure. Dude is wicked athletic and a true shot maker, just needs to work on consistency.
I haven’t been watching the others that much but I do think green has been great . His focus on being a 2-way player is very encouraging as is his shot . guy is gonna be a stud . I know people are thinking about passing .. but if he just focuses on his shot , adding strength , and gradually adds other skills he will be alright . But based on my limited knowledge of the others ... Scottie Barnes and mobley have to be better right now . With Barnes edging mobley by a little imo . Both those guys are playing huge minutes on playoff teams . but I think green has an argument for 3rd . very high ceiling on him too
I don’t believe there is a strong case for Giddey or Wagner I got it as a 3 person competition between Cade, Green, Mobley with an honorable mention to Barnes
So far, just a guy with springs in his legs. I wouldn’t hesitate to move him for any of the top 4 picks in this draft. Hoping for a big step next year, but right now he’s barely top 10 from the 2021 draft.
Cade, Mobley, Barnes, Giddy, Wagner, Kuminga look like better prospects to me. But I didn’t mean to come off hating. I just need to see a big year 2.
idk how u can watch green's progress this season and your description of him is just a guy with springs in his legs. barely top 10 but only has 6 other rookies (debatable) ahead of him. Idk how u could also even considering moving him for the draft prospects yet to play a min of NBA. Just a very negative take, but that's just me interpreting it.
"Just springs for legs" He literally has some of the most advanced footwork for scoring in this entire draft class and far more advanced in that department than a guy like Lavine when he was a rookie.
I understand if he might think there's guys better than Green but to bucket him as just a guy with hops is just about as bad as it gets and I don't dislike him or anything.
okay I’m being overly harsh. I’m gonna do my best to reserve judgement till I see him next year. I’m rooting for him.
Way too early to tell who is the best player. There was no Lebron James of this draft. However, there were some very good players and it will turn out to be a great draft I think. Cade, Mobley, Green, Barnes, Wagner - that's a very good top 5. Could you imagine if you put those guys on one team by the way? In five years from now, any one of those could be the best players from this class.
I respect the acknowledgment here. Most people just stay away from the thread or dig-in deeper in this situation. High quality response, and I appreciate the candidness.
Yeah kinda weird, but it is what it is. I didn't like the way he played last night. Some of it was on him being passive and getting out of rhythm. I didn't like some things I saw, but he should be past the point where he allows himself to go long stretches in games being uninvolved in the offense. Funny because for a guy with "just springs in his legs" and who just turned 20 a month and a half ago, his averages over the months of February and March are really good. So over the last 2 months which is a span of 23 games, he is averaging... 17.8 ppg 3.1 REB 3.3 AST 1.0 STL 0.4 BLK 1.7 TOV 46.6 FG% 37.0 3FG% on 6.3 attempts per game 57.3 TS% And he's been playing defense. Not sure what more you could realistically ask for at this point. He's underperformed in 2 of the last 3 games sure, but he'll snap back out of it. He's been very consistent recently. Much more consistent than I would've imagined he could be this rookie year. He scored at least 20 points in 9 out of 13 games prior to this 3 game stretch, but I guess that doesn't matter.
