He just needs to focus on becoming a specialist, with one strong offensive skill and being a good teammate. Become strong in rebounding, defense, and hitting open threes/free throws and you'll play in the NBA for a decade and make millions of dollars. Ask PJ Tucker
sounds like we need to show Usman some love. I liked his 3 and I liked his block. I’d like to see him play a lot more these last 6 games; maybe even get enough minutes to get into a rhythm so we can see what he can do.
Had really good seats under basket tonight and let me tell you... his jump is slow, no explosion. Also no anticipation to account for that issue. Maybe thinking too much slowing him down idk but I hope I'm wrong.
His defensive versatility was on display today. I’ll eat crow if he proves to be a serviceable backup.
Garuba looked good, and his defensive instincts really are special. But mannn he is out of shape! Remember when people were talking about Al-P huffing and puffing during a game? Garuba looked exhausted after about 5 minutes of run. But I'm glad he finally played meaningful minutes and accounted for himself well.
I like him. Same role as Hulk in the Avengers movie Hulk Smash. Go out there and smash some fools. You got 6 fouls to use.
Impossible to know one way or the other until he gets some actual minutes. My guess is that he’s a valuable project to someone as a trade filler one day. He has some skill. Who knows?
Odds of hitting on all 4 and having all 4 get through a season without missing a lot of time due to injury, mental challenges, homesickness, or something was always extremely low--they are, after all, still essentially teenagers with massive amounts of money and fame thrown at them. We should be thankful that 3 of 4 are looking good. Garuba needs some time to adjust to the NBA and I think he will be at least a serviceable 8-9 man on a good squad. I'm looking at him as a bonus 2022 pick since he had so little time to work on his game this year. Have faith. With a little patience, we may yet go 4 for 4.
Worst shape of his career. Doesn't look like an NBA player right now but it's just part of that "who could've known how good he was going to be" story. Desperately needs to work on his corner 3 and get into peak shape. He's the perfect theoretical pairing with Sengun.
As brought up in the radio broadcast Garuba has played in around 129 NBA minutes this season and has taken 27 shots. 16 have been 3-pt attempts. So his role is defined. Hopefully he gets with a shooting coach this summer and works on his 3-pt shooting. Comes back next season and contributes to the rotation. He will be just fine, a welcome addition to the team as he does much of the dirty work.
