Assuming Jabari, Chet, Paolo, Ivey and Mathurin are gone, Murray goes 6 or 7, I think if Shaedon Sharpe we’re to slide a bit, it would be worth combining the Brooklyn pick and the 2023 Milwaukee pick, maybe a prospect, to get him. It’s doable I think.

The way I see it, he has as much talent as anyone in this draft. Yes he’s gonna be raw, but so was Giannis when he came in. If we are gonna bet on another lotto pick in this draft (not a deep draft), I say bet big on talent. Of course he makes less sense if we draft Ivey, but otherwise if Sharpe falls towards 10 we should make a move to grab him. I think it’s gonna be very expensive and difficult to get back into the top 7

I've yet to do a meaningful deep dive on anyone outside the top 4, but with that said I like Sochan.

At this rate there’s no need to trade up. Our pick will be in this range. LOL

Re: the possible Portland deal. Even if Jerami Grant is more valued than Wood and Tate combined, I think the Rockets ability to offer that Brooklyn pick pushes their offer past the finish line. Portland is going to try and build again around Damian Lillard and Wood and Tate help with that. But if it doesnt work then Lillard will be moved and they'll rebuild. And having the ability to shed either or both Wood and Tate AND having already selected another first round rookie allows the Blazers to hedge their bets/have their cake and eat it too/some other metaphor. The Grant deal doesnt do that. Of course they could move Grant for assets at the deadline if the experiment has failed but there are no guarantees there.

So, again, this is the dream for me:
Wood, Tate and Brooklyn pick to Portland for their second lottery pick (the NOP pick, currently tied for 10th), their second round pick (currently 37) and Eric Bledsoe. Bledsoe is non-guaranteed and would be cut. The Rockets draft Jabari Smith (top 3), Tari Eason (10) & Dalen Terry (37) and then sign the best available undrafted big (Badji would be my guy).

    Next season
1 - KPJ/Nix - Sign KPJ to a team friendly extension but he'd be trait bait if things didnt turn around PDQ
2 - Green/Christopher - Hoping Green continues to improve and JC can be energy off the pine as CG
3 - Martin/Eason/Terry - I could see any of the 3 ending up as the long term starter
4 - Smith/Eason - Both guys bring switchability with Smith the offensive piece and Eason the D
5 - Sengun/Garuba/Badji - Sengun for his O and Garuba/Badji for their defense (or, at worst, 6 fouls)

Mix in some minutes for Nwaba (defense), Mathews (shooting) and, if he's never moved, Gordon (fun) and lets quit trying to lose.
