@Reeko what Simmons is going through is real and not a result of laziness

I hope you never experience a back injury because ignorance about that stuff is bliss

If you're the head coach and Ownership and GM are telling you tank....then you tank.

The onus is mostly on Stone, Tilman and Patrick Fertitta (include Gretchen and crew as well)

But, yes they won't fire themselves. Silas will be the scapegoat....every expansion or tanking
coach is asked to fall on their sword for the sake of the team (that they helped built)

    S*** rolls downhill

A few days later and I’m ready to cut the line. What KPJ did was so emasculating, Silas just might not be HC material. That’s not to say Stone or anyone else is innocent. That was just pitiful. I hope I’m wrong and Silas is incredible either here or else where but as of now I think Kenny Atkinson or Quinn Snyder should be the HC next year. I like Abdelfattah but I think this team needs a retread. Kenny was fired because Kyrie didn’t want a coach. He deserves another chance.

Whether you meant it or not, crediting Greens improvement on Lucas is a very high compliment on Silas's leadership.

If you are going to blame the record on Silas, I am forced to guess that either you think that a better HC could make a frontcourt of Wood and Tate work without a developed PG, or that you are mad at situation which leads you to irrationally blame Silas. I put the blame almost completely on Stone, how he handled the Rockets after trading Harden, and the decisions by owner and the previous GM that lead to Harden wanting to leave.

I have very little opinion on whether Silas is a good head coach or not. I only know he has a raw deal, and the likely top priority given to him this season was to get Green developed which has happened whether through direct coaching or leadership.

MDA or even Sam Cassell would coach circles around Silas.

@D-rock may be irrational about Silas, but it appears you might be irrational about Stone.

Harden wanted CP3 AND Trevor Ariza out. That was not Stone's fault. Harden wanted Westbrook and that forced us to go for it and trade Capela. Again, not Stone. Suddenly Harden wants out of Houston. I think this might all be Harden's fault actually? Or maybe it's just a thing that happened as a result of a bunch of small decisions that snowballed on us. That's what people with a good bit of insider knowledge are saying on certain documented podcast-ish type things found in links in certain website founder's threads they started.

But.. you know what's easier in life...

Me? I prefer to accept that there have been changes and if I want to remain a loyal fan of the current team, I can't live in the past and tally small decisions over and over. And picking on Silas about things that are causing us to lose? WE'RE TRYING TO LOSE! How is that fair that you fire the guy for doing what was asked of him? It might happen, but it's not justified in the sense of that individual. If it happens, it'll be because they want a change for change sake.

Yeah. I don't buy into the whole alpha male bullshit..... but the reality is that Porter has name multiple times completely disrespected Coach Silas in front of all of the players and the general fan base and there are consequences for it. Silas didn't need to drag him off the court, but how Silas handled the situation post game and then the punishments he has received have been trivial.

Stone can be fine with it because he knows he can always dump Porter and Silas..... but for Silas, this is up there with Robert Horry throwing a towel in Danny Ainge's face.... it doesn't sit well.....

It reminds me of when Stan Van Gundy was the coach of the Heat. He was a hard worker, he was smart and progressive and knew a lot about basketball..... he was loved by Riley and seen as the future coach of the Heat..... and then when things didn't quite go well he panicked at the end of games, and all it took was Shaq noticing that Van Gundy couldn't handle the pressure as a leader, and the team sensed it and Riley dumped him and came back to coach.....

The Harden trade is going to be an absolute nightmare for the NETS.

Harden figures out Kyrie is a flake and that the NETS are going nowhere so he asks out.

The NETS try to re-coup their losses by getting Ben Simmons who for all his flaws is still a good player.

Ben Simmons likely doesn't play this year and has a herniated disc (good luck Brooklyn) and is owed 100 million plus over the next 3 years.... and this will be the second full season he has missed in his career.

Nowadays, I'd just be happy if Charlotte passes them up and they end up as a 9-seed or something.
