    Requirements for Restricted Free Agency.

    " • A player coming off a two-way contract was on an NBA active or inactive roster for at least 15 days in the season beforehand."

    Front office signing him this late in season is putting dibs on him, to satisfy that 15 days requirement. Keeping options open for future.
