Honestly ... he doesn’t. He’s given us a large sample size of who he normally is ... lazy . sengun has been coming on as of late and I’m sure wood can feel the pressure . next year is a contract year for him . he has a bunch of incentive to be showing high effort right now and next year .
I just don't like the dude. Everything that doesn't show up in the box score and videos he does poorly. He needs to join the Spurs or something, instead he was happy to stay here and lead a tank. Not a sign of a winner.
The problem with wood isn't his physical gifts and ability to put the ball in the bucket. His problem is he is absolutely lost when the ball isn't in his hand, always in the wrong position and refuses to set legitimate screens. The biggest issue with Wood is he thinks he's the franchise player on this team which obviously isn't the case.
Oh, so you are one of these individuals that thinks we haven't been "Tanking" for two years and that everything we see is not an illusion. Folks wrongly seem to think tanking and sucking are always the same thing. Wood sucks at setting screens and doing big man things (rebounds, defending big men, etc.) theres not a conspiracy of him not doing it bc folks told him to tank he just sucks at it.
I was watching Mobley vs Lakers the other day.....very unimpressed. Saw him doing like Green earlier in the season guarding the wrong player (two players on same guy) Amazing how well someone looks with other long wing span guys surrounding him. Someone more mobile than Sengun or Theis, that is. If Wood switches on PnR and our puny guards are getting burned this season... picture Chet or Banchero helping from the wing. Jabari Smith is undecided at the time of this posting. People often confuse tanking with sucking.....sometimes a wasted season is a time to screw around. Kinda goes with the intentional losing "thing" Wood barely took a shot in the first half yesterday.....hardly the ball sticking in his hands kinda thing I'm suppose to believe. I'm not a follower....i have my own interpretation and beliefs on this team. Others can peat and repeat the same mantra if they wish. Jalen Green, Porter, Sengun, Josh Christopher, Chet, Ivey, Chet, Banchero Jabari Smith, Keegan Murray, others would benefit from the presence of Wood drawing the opposing teams bigs out to the perimeter or as a lob threat in PnR or cutter. Defense picks up exponentially with a Chet or Jabari Smith or Banchero with Wood. I know you and others may not see it....but I do.
