Royce White was professional. He just had a fear of flying.

Seriously though has regret hit him yet? Does it hit when the money is out? I want to know.

For the most part, the players on the first list played mad and had a short fuse that caused them to be too intense. Kpj stops playing, that was usually the opposite of the problem there players had.
Granted max refusing to play after drexler trade was different but not characteristic of the mad max persona.
Rodman was an enigma but I think alot of what he did was purposeful and calculated.

The point of trying KPJ at point guard was to differentiate himself as the league has a plethora of guards. I wouldn't be upset if we didn't pick up his team option for next season or packaged him in a deal.

While I don't think Silas is a leader of men, KPJ keeps shooting himself in the foot. The truth of the matter is this is a business not a rehabilitation program. KPJ certainly does have a tragic upbringing, but there's plenty of guys who would love to be given the chance he has.

I kinda need to hear a report that the team is having issues with KPJ for me to believe anything. Some of y’all don’t have the credentials for y’all’s mental health analysis lol

Tillman might not be y’all’s favorite owner but he doesn’t look like the type of boss who would let a 21 year old kid embarrass his brand like that. If KPJ really was a real problem, Tillman seems like the kind who would fire your ass on the spot

Yeah this is a thinly veiled excuse thread. Some posters have been caping for KPJ even though he's been legitimately unprofessional and has not been a very good player all the while preaching about maturity and playing the right way and all that bs.

Unprofessional **** is leaving during a game
No one in that list did that ****
Except Latrell. . the choking thing kind of was a bit unprofessional :D
Rodman just became a show - but that was more Kim/Kanye brand building sh*t.

KPJ *can* get better. but someone is gonna have to sit on him.
His **** on the court is the only real worry

    Some guards salary this year
    Luka - $10.2 mil
    Trae $8.3 mil
    Tyrese Maxey - $2.6 mil ($2.7, $4.3, $6.2)

--- other guards at KPJ's draft class (2019), salary this year.
    Ja - $9.9 mil (then $12 mil, $15.8 mil)
    Darius Garland - $7 mil ($8.9, $11.9)
    Tyler Herro - $4 mil ($5.7, $7.9)
    Matisse Thybulle - $2.8 mil ($4.4m, $6.3m)
    Jordon Poole - $2.2 mil ($3.9m, $5.8)

    Romeo Langford - $3.8 mil ($5.6m, $7.8m)

    -------------
In KPJ's own draft class, compare to the other guards, I'd put him somewhere between Poole and Langford.

Board is talking about maybe putting KPJ as a 6th man or letting him go. IMHO $5-$7m is maybe fair value, anything over $10m is overpay.

    ------
KPJ's agent is Sam Permut of Roc Nation Sports. Sam's other clients and this year salary include

    Marcus Morris Sr - $15.6m
    Kyrie - $34.9m
    Rudy Gay - $5.8m
    Chris Boucher - $7.0m
    Trey Burke - $3.1m
    Markieff Morris - $2.6m
    Immanuel Quickley - $2.2m
    Willie Cauley Stein - $120k
    KPJ - $1.7m
    ----

Outside of Marcus and Kyrie, none of them are over $10 mil per for this year. KPJ was supposedly low risk (from a salary stand point), but TBH from playing time and development perspective, he has sucked in lot of Rockets resources this year.

I hope the kid will fix his emotional issues.

If Kevin Porter Jr. was a great talent, he would find jobs in the league until he absolutely do something destructive, like drug or crime or real quitting. The thing is, he is not that special. I still don't see like some people say that he's a great talent. So far, he is just an okay player with once in a while flashes. A lot of NBA players can do that. (Heck, Garry Mathews played like a star earlier and got the Bird nickname. And he still can get hot every now and then.) If you take away KPJ's behavioral problem, he is still just an average starter at best or an okay rotation player. It's not hard to find a guy with that kind of abilities without the mental baggage.

I'd be okay if we kept him, and would root for him. If we gave up on him, I wouldn't be too disappointed either.

Weird to see you white knight for KPJ so hard DD. This guy is nothing special and isn't worth the headache.

Unprofessional things - going into the stands - getting caught 3 times doing drugs when you know the CBA doesn't allow it.....choking coaches, getting thrown out on purpose because you are frustrated.....or faking an injury to leave a city.....but sure it is all the big men at the top....wtf ever...

No excuses - you know the rules when you sign that contract.

Most of the guys on this list weren't selfish, entitled adults that were handed the keys to a franchise after their meltdowns soon thereafter either... Didn't work like that back then... I've worked in alternative school settings for 20+ years so I'm all about 2nd/ 3rd chances and beyond if need be... But not for a mfer that has generational prosperity laid out right in front of him and too stupid to take advantage of it.. Or at least wait to **** it off after gaining that prosperity...

I'm not sure if it's professionalism at this point, but KPJ might be the only player I've seen that pretends to be injured in order to stop running back on defense.

It's happened numerous times already and at this point if he's genuinely hurt he needs to sit. It's frustrating how he somehow gets hurts after a missed shot or a turnover, then stops playing defense, then miraculously recover again when the Rockets are back on offense.

    He practically has bi-polar ankles.
