I don't know, he has not been successful at being a head coach, and he isn't going to be successful as the "BAD COP" if his boss is consistently undermining him. DD
This good stretch lifted his season averages to 40% fg and 59 % ft. I guess that gives you an idea of how BAD it was before that.
21 years old, learning a new position (only playing devil's advocate here).....I mean there are signs of growth, about the same level as Green's....to be fair. DD
"Lack of effort" = quitting on team and teammates. "Lack of effort" is a silly euphemism for something no team in their right mind would tolerate.
Okay even in a postionless NBA, I am sure you don't want one of your top players on the team to act the way he did yesterday.
I certainly do not, but there have been many players in the NBA who have acted up at times......I think KPJ needs someone to follow to unlock his full potential. He is Ron Artest, Rasheed Wallace, Draymond Green etc....he has maturity issues......needs a leader above him in the pecking order to succeed. DD
For those who want to give him more time (and I am still on the fence myself), let's see how he responds to a benching. Make him come off the bench for the rest of the season. See how his attitude is. Poor behavior can't go unaddressed. And talking to him behind closed doors is not addressing it.
Yet 6+ apg and a 2-1 assist to turnover ration at 21 on a terrible team with terrible shooters and solid defense for the most part are pretty good. DD
This team needs a leader that would stand up, get in his face, call him out, and get his attention. In the absence of one on the floor it can be on the bench, we have neither. And our veteran - Eric Gordon - clearly doesn't really care, he is just cashing his checks - and checking out. We have no leadership. DD
You can’t excuse this kind of behavior. How is this even a discussion? Dude has blown through numerous chances. At some point you have to consider what’s best for the team. He’s already gotten away with too much and we’ve enabled it. It’s not fair to the team to give guys like KPJ special treatment. Move on!!!! maybe Cleveland actually knew what they were doing when they got rid of him for what they could get. Move him for a second or cut him in the offseason.
I am a fan of KPJ, That is fair, I agree with you on that. Even though I was disappointed in his actions, I still believe in KPJ. Silas should have benched him though and showed him some tough love.
None of those guys quit mid game and left the stadium. Or quit mid game and stopped trying for minutes on end. Green, Wallace and Artest we're leaders of teams. KPJ is not in their league.
I've been posting to trade this piece of **** in 99% of my posts here. But I hate that this happened because now his trade value is even worse. Teams aren't giving up a pack of jelly beans for him. But not any jelly beans, as Trolli has more value than KPJ because it has a picture of James Harden on it.
