Compared to Jabari's absolute disaster of a game, Bancharo looked amazing....and he only looked good, not great. I'm still okay with any of the three, but Chet is the clear cut #1 and Jabari and Bancharo are interchangeable as #2 and #3. I still think no matter what if the Rockets finish with the worst record they are all but guaranteed a quality player.
Not sure if it is true but supposedly Gonzaga said the cafeteria just puts out a little bowl of bird seed for Chet to eat. Real low maintenance, they just have to refill it every couple days.
As of today ESPN’s Jonathan Givony has Chet 1, Jabari 2, Paolo 3 and Ivey at 4. Murray 5, Sharpe 6 and AJG at 7. Things are looking clearer. We need Shaedon to declare and be approved and where we end up in the lottery won’t matter. The write up also says that Jabari may have killed his shot at going 1. I don’t buy that. That’s reactionary.
Rockets have a ton of guards on the roster, but Green is the only one that would be tough to part. I think if the Rockets find a way to get better scoring from the guards, they will be able to play another big man without the offense cratering.
You arent getting a haul if you trade down from 3 to 4 lol. You prob barely get anything, and I'd be concerned the team you trade down for gets Ivey instead.
There's only 1 guard on the roster than matters. all the other ones shouldn't be part of any future plans. It's already dumb having most of them to begin with, when they should have been moved a long time ago
It'll def translate problem is does he have the intsngible to be the All Star Julius Randle or will he be the 2022 Julius Randle?
The good thing about going with yet another quick, athletic SG to toss on the pile of guards the team already has, is that it should keep them in the same position and possibly lead to yet another top 4 pick in the next draft.....where the Rockets could then draft yet another quick, athletic SG to toss on the pile of guards they already have, keeping them in the hunt for yet another top 4 pick after that! 7D chess.
I can't help but be a little reactionary myself by putting Mathurin up there in the 5-6 range. He made me a believer last night.
Said this before - Wiliams is gonna make some team real happy as he anchors their defense and rebounding and shoot better than 70% from the floor cause he dunks everything.
If Paolo is considered to be much more valuable than Ivey, he should get a haul for one spot. The value difference between picks isn't the distance between them, but the value difference of the players expected to be at those spots. I don't think Paolo is worth it, and the Rockets should just draft Ivey in that situation. Though there are people that think Paolo is best person in the draft. If whoever is drafting 4th thinks Paolo is the best player in the draft or in that tier and Ivey isn't, they should be willing to offer a haul.
He isn’t in an offense that is really conducive to getting assists and the spacing is terrible. He has improved as a playmaker for others but will need to continue to improve. Having said that, his talent level is very high and is an excellent prospect. He also is a far better player than Porter.
Exactly on 1st part. On having a lot of guards, the Rockets are trying to find talent that they may be able to use in the future as either players or in a trade and aren't really picky about position at the moment. Having a balanced roster is a really low priority on Stone's list if even on the list. An unbalanced roster may be part of his tanking strategy.
