You're arguing for the sake of arguing. If you somehow think going from extreme poverty to (true) poverty is some kind of achievement, you're mistaken.

We are essentially agreeing to the same point. Yes, I specifically stated life has been good up until the 70's. There is a whole slew of technology advances that have allowed even the poorest of Americans experience some of the highest standard of livings that even the wealthiest of people 100 years ago could not achieve.

Some reason you want me to come up with myopic data points, that you're so keen on frequently sharing, to support my point. I dont need data points to suggest that later Millennials and Gen Z who have not purchased a house and completely burden with unnecessary debt can some how afford 400k - 500k basic housing. No, times are not getting better at the moment nor the foreseeable future. MMT is completely destroying the world economy. The days of fast growth and easy money are coming to an end. And yes, it is the elitist's across the globe who end up controlling monetary policy through governance. Yes, our government is morally bankrupt.

oil down? I thought Biden’s policies were disastrous!!! He must have changed all his policies in the last 72 hours or something.

@basso @Commodore @SuraGotMadHops - care to comment on how Biden’s disastrous policies dictate the price of crude oil?

Life has been good for who up until the 50s and 60s? We had major civil strife, several recessions and downturns. We didn't have some continuous boom post WW2, but just had an advantage due to the world rebuilding itself from consecutive world wars.

Our government wasn't morally bankrupt pre 70s?

    Pure.
We have a generation who thinks they will end up YouTube or tiktok millionaires so they won’t take real jobs
The tiktokers who quit their jobs flipping burgers will soon realize that nobody is watching their videos and then get further in debt spending money trying to live that selfie life traveling and partying
They are going to be in massive debt
They should have never dropped of college
Even if they wanted to be art history majors
They are going to beg Bernie Sanders to be president so he try to wipe out their debt they brought on themselves
While the smart kids who got real degrees are making money and buying houses
And going to the rockets games and eating at Landry’s

You couldn't have been more wrong. The standard of living increases with technology. Food shortages are a thing of the past because of knowledge. IBM has to sell computers elsewhere eventually besides in industrial nations.

Communication and transportation is more efficient, you're just wrong. It's not even about America, it's just development of humanity

The gold standard can't keep up with progress. Technology has lapped gold, our monetary system keeps up. Gold can't keep up with the value of goods. There isn't enough.

    It's just a rock

    @Space Ghost

You take a piece of coal, you create heat, you create electricity, you've created money.

The dollar just represents value we add to raw materials when we create.. the dollar is real because cell phones, gasoline, etc is real

When Germany printed money representing nothing it fell apart because they were creating nothing

Yes a growing economy will require more money to fund things like new investments. That money actually has value as those investments actually create more capital. That is different than hyperinflation in a failing economy where the money is losing value.

In a capitalist society, the cure to higher prices is higher prices.

Cons want government intervention because they now believe in winners and losers that they complain about when the other team is in control
