Wanted to share this: "This interactive performance was broadcast live on Aug 24, 2021 during the celebration of Ukraine's 30th independence anniversary." First, I appreciate the amazing live artistic performance. That last line I think gives a sense of what they are fighting for today. Turn on Eng subs. Why? it is accurate Trump lied and uses propaganda to get the ignorant people here in America to believe bullshit too. The sooner that people realize they were swindled the better country we become, toss all those traitors into prison on January 6th, get rid of all the congress people who took Russian money and imprison them for treason and we can heal. DD
It the power of total media control. Garbage in, garbage out. The more state media control, the more people think like the state. It's why media control is always the first move in the authoritarian playbook. The American media "reality schism" is a weirder thing. It requires the willing participation of the victim instead of overt force. People prefer comforting comprehensable lies to hard, unplesant truths. Anybody remember when the narrative was we were going to be greeted as liberators in Iraq? It didn't take long to die but people REALLY wanted to believe.
Russia might still win in Ukraine but the cost to them is very high. Even if Russia succeeds in taking Ukraine they will be much weaker as not only will they likely lose tens of thousands of troops and equipment they are losing much of their senior officer corps. The ability to Russia to be able to fight an offensive war will be seriously compromised and while we still have reason to worry about Putin deciding to attack more countries after Ukraine he might not have that ability to do so.
I was listening to a former US general discuss why so many high level Russian officers were dying. He said part of the problem is that Russia's junior officers (Lieutenant and Captain ranks) weren't very good also unlike the US that has a very strong system of non-commissioned officers (sergeants) Russia does not. So senior officers have had to put themselves at the front to take on roles that in the US junior officers or sergeants might be doing.
The longer Ukraine holds out and the more devastation Russia wreaks on the country, the better for Ukraine's chances of international aid (weapons, training) and for sanctions on Russia to start seriously hurting. Ukraine's president is playing a masterful PR game with the West, much like Churchill did before the US joined the fight in Europe in WWII.
With all the high-ranking KIA; did these people earn their ranks or were they appointed because of their loyalty. They don't seem to have any military minds commanding them.
