To be fair, he has grown a lot since last year. He and Jalen Green are from the same high school class and Green was ranked like 40 spots ahead of Ivey. They are the same exact age with JG being only 4 days older. If you compare where they are right now while also factoring that Jalen Green has averaged 20 points per game for over a month while also improving as a playmaker it puts what you're seeing with Ivey in a little more context. You aren't looking at this year Ivey compared to last year Green. It's this year Green versus this year Ivey. They've both developed tremendously, but JG is literally going against pros. I do agree that Ivey shows more potential as a passer and better court vision and Green as a 3 level scorer which is why I think they would be DYNAMIC together. Both can play off the ball or with the ball in their hands and both attack the basket. Fastest and most athletic starting guard combo in the NBA.
Would not be mad at Ivey being the pick. He definitely has the ability to end up being the best player of the top 4 guys. And a Jaden and Jalen backcourt sure would be fun.
both are are pretty unselfish too. Ivey was fine letting his teammates do all the stuff while he waited until winning time. If Rockets draft Ivey, Ivey would pass back to Jalen.
Oh for sure, didn’t mean that as hating on Green or that Ivey >green, Green has the age advantage, but the difference in ball handling and vision is clear imo. Ivey can play pg. Green is a sg/combo guard.
I do like Ivey a lot more than Green also though. But the previous post was only referring to ball handling and ability to play pg.
Ivey's stepped up and still played within the offense. He's coming up with big-time shots/plays at the end. Nice showing in the end so far.
I don't agree with that, but you're entitled to your opinion. I like them both for different reasons. Jalen Green in college would have been crazy good. Green makes NBA players look slow as will Ivey. Green is doing what Ivey did tonight at a higher level against professionals. He's been going crazy against NBA players for the past 2 months while being the 3rd option.
