Lol. How was I supposed to know you meant all that? While I think the FO made some mistakes, I don’t think they are inept.
This went over some of y’all’s head at the time it was reported because it was sandwiched in between a puff piece. Just think about what this is saying. Now think about what he did when he left the arena and think about all the weird stuff he did today. This man is a headcase. There is a reason he keeps getting kicked off of his basketball teams. As talented as he is, teams are telling him to go home and never come back for a reason. @Nook used to bring this up a lot and I was kind of annoyed because I wanted KPJ to work out so bad at the time, but he was spot on.
He’s just not mature enough to be a starter in the NBA for a winning team at any position. He’s talented enough if he works hard, but his effort level at times just really shouldn’t be tolerated. That’s on him, but it’s also on Silas and Stone. If he can’t grow up, he shouldn’t be on an NBA roster. Period.
I ain't mad at that. He was doing that on his own time. I did see that though. The main issue I had with that was if your ankle is supposedly hurt, how can you be out there playing in Crocs? Make it make sense.
I'm not sure he's actually hurt. He seems to be "walking off" something after every awkward play. It's almost like he does it so he's excused for his poor play. He always ends up staying in the game anyway. Idk man, I feel betrayed. I was very high on him and I was also hyped for him improving after the good end to the last season. I feel like he's regressed on everything other than 3s and defense. His handle looks like **** compared to last year too.
Hakeem was known for the The Dream Shake. Kareem was known for the The Sky Hook. KPJ is known for The Throw Your Hands Up in Disgust at No Whistle Then Let Your Teammates Play 5 on 4 While You Chuck a Tantrum. Always brings a good chuckle when this toddler does this each and every game.
The biggest issue with him is that he has no self-awareness. He thinks he is better than who he actually is. I cringe so hard every time he celebrate after a made basket. You don’t have to celebrate after every single basket man, just get back on defense.
Registered with me loud and clear when it came out and like you I couldn't believe it wasn't a bigger deal to people. Skill wise folks can debate all day whether or not they believe he can be the pg. But mentally, there should no longer be a debate at all... On a young team trying to develop multiple young players and also having Woods antics, you can not have this guy as your floor general. I seriously would have cut him when he left at half time. Not backing away from that no matter how much he flashes. His talent and numbers does not lead to winning basketball anyways. I do not want a guy that that has to be handled with kids gloves on the team. Let alone being put into a natural leadership role like being the main ball handler. This young team needs to be coached hard and having a guy that you handle with kid gloves because he's a head case is not setting a good example.
I think I now want Ivey in the draft because I don’t think you can trust what we have now running the point. Can’t afford to have one bad apple mess up everything they are trying to do with this rebuild.
At the end of the day, the Rockets were so desperate for talent that they gave the keys to the team to players known for their attitude issues. There is a reason why Wood, despite having "unicorn" talent, bounced around 6 teams in 6 seasons. I highly doubt that the 5 teams before this all missed out on his talents. KPJ has the same issue, a 1st round pick abandoned in a single year (despite having a fairly decent rookie year) and practically waived (which is almost unheard of). The Rockets then put these two guys together on the same team, with a rookie coach, and then let them do whatever they want. At this point, I'm not sure if Wood and KPJ has a lot of trade value. However, the biggest concern is if the FO holds on to them in hopes of better returns, and the Rockets end up further hindering the development of the rookies as a result.
I wasn't able to see the latest Porter tantrum, but why would I be surprised? I hope he has more of these down the stretch so there is no chance of Stone being fooled by his occasional 25 point game. The same goes for Wood, but I am scared Wood is having too many fake good games lately.
This would be awesome to see and move KPJ to the bench as a 6th man.....or ship his ass out. Imagine seeing this every night from him and Jalen....
Ivey looks much more a PG than KPJ. Dude looks for his teammates. He's also a million more times physically gifted than KPJ.
Sure. KPJ had almost twice as many points, more assists, more rebounds in fewer minutes. KPJ had a shyte game for sure, but he had a better FG% and 3P% than Green.
