According to the Times article, they have confirmed with the people involved that the emails which were the subject of the scandal were genuine.
to echo the point about media . . . Facebook and Twitter both made the executive decision that the New York Post's reporting on the topic was "disinformation" and "limited the sharing" of the story (read: censored the story). https://www.npr.org/2020/10/14/9237...t-sharing-new-york-post-story-about-joe-biden and yes yes yes, I know these are both private companies and can do anything they want so there's no such thing as censorship by private companies et cetera et cetera et cetera
The NY Times always stated throughout there was no evidence the emails themselves were part of a Russian disinformation campaign. The Times stated that in 2016, not just last week.
The post article still had misstatements and false innuendo. For example stating that Shokin was investigating Burisma when he in fact was not. (Shokin was actually stonewalling the investigation). This is what makes this whole story propaganda and misinformation. Not the emails, but the narrative that Biden was trying to do Burisma a favor when it was the exact opposite.
In case you are interested, this was published in 2019 long before the laptop "scandal" That's exactly what this is, and Trump & Giuliani have turned the truth 180 degrees, hiding their own corruption in Ukraine where they were the ones pressuring politicians for personal gain. It's absolutely ridiculous. https://www.justsecurity.org/66101/...-for-fake-ukraine-dirt-on-biden-an-explainer/
But they should be subject to special scrutiny because of their reach, in my opinion. I think we will see that in other cases, such as Covid stuff, vaccines, etc., some things they censored will turn out to be factually correct. They must not be the arbiters of (their version of the) truth.
Frankly if y’all are looking at Facebook and Twitter to tell you the truth there are some bigger problems there. I’ve always considered these mediums to be suspect given that they specifically aren’t meant to be about telling the truth. Allowing people to share content isn’t truth telling.
Amazing that picture is 45 years old and he looks and dresses exactly like the yuppy millennial assholes I see in downtown Chicago and NYC. He just needs a craft beer or a PBR in his hand he is golden.
goes around....comes around It's inevitable that parachute pants will come back someday, I hope it's in my lifetime.
Voters don't care. Bidets record.is gonna stand up I'd he runs again Republicans will need a real issue It wasn't a big deal first go round
According to a Times article I read, Trump extorted President Zelensky of Ukraine in his attempt to defend against Russia by blocking arms transfers like antitank missiles unless he participated in clownish Hunter Biden conspiracy schemes and every single Republican senator save 1 voted to endorse Trump for this. Crazy ****. If i can find the link to these events I'll post them - there must be a thread about it somewhere
Why not? You do it all the time. Especially if you can manage to cast aspersions at the Democratic Party in the process.
so says the one w poor reading comprehension, unable/unwilling to describe/point to the supposed corruption/influence peddling. on the other end of the specturm, Stupidmoniker was silent on this 2016 mail disclosure 'I love it': Donald Trump Jr's emails from Russia offering material on Clinton The stunning disclosure raised questions over whether campaign laws were broken and why senior Trump associates failed to report a hostile act by a foreign power.
