I'm still trying to figure out what makes Duren that much better than a Mark Williams, but I don't watch, so I don't know.
I’m 100% Jabari now. Sold. If Timme is available at the Brooklyn pick… But I’d be sooo happy with Walker Kessler there.
Newsflash folks timme won’t get drafted. Stop with this use the nets pick on him. It’s not even necessary
This is what I like the most about Chet, he’s playing a secondary role on offense. But he does so much more. Elite defensively. His 3 hasn’t been falling which is a concern. I have my preference, but if you tell me we can get Jabari and Kessler I’d take that too.
Chet is not a Star Player but a project. I changed my mind on Holmgren because he was getting beat up inside and got Dunked On! I want Jabari or Paolo for certain, they are for real….
Chet looks to be a JAG (just another guy). The new Porzingis probably. Doesn’t seem to have that take over mentality
Lmao you obviously didn’t watch the game if you thought he was getting beat up. He dominated the paint defensively I was a laughing at duren all game long
Anyone making judgments from one game has no concept how scouting works, it’s that immediate dopamine.
Chet is a freshman on a team with a lot of experienced older players. Chet hasn’t been asked or expected to carry the team. He’s still done very well playing a secondary role, but you know if he continued playing college ball, he would become more dominant.
Exactly, and the fact that he’s so dominant on the defensive side while not even being able to be the guy on offense says a lot about him as a teammate and player.
Chet looked uninspiring on offense, and aside from a few mistakes, dominated on defense. Sure he got dunked on once, but when he was out for the last 10 minutes of the first half, Memphis ran a lay-up line out there. He comes back in in the second half and I didn't see a single attempt at the rim that wasn't some awkward scoop shot for the next 12 minutes as Timmie carried the 'Zags back. Duren looked unskilled on offense and undiciplined on defense. Best suited as a P&R and defensive big. Very big and athletic, if a team knows what they'll be getting from him, he'll be a fine pro. DeAndre Jordan 2.0. If I were Gonzaga's coach, I'd lock the entire team in the gym until everyone makes 10,000 free throws. That was embarassing.
Honestly the Chet highlight of the month for me was when he actually passed off the defensive rebound to a guard running up the right wing instead of sauntering solo past the stripe at a 3/4 speed jaunt. If only that type of skill could be taught or learned.
