World police and the richest country in the world? Just keep in mind we have a big portion of our country that lives in poverty. America is not that great.

Would you prefer a large welfare state?

    What is your ideal America?

I would also be more supportive if I were reading articles from legitimate sources describing the "large quantity" of weapons, ammunition, and other lethal aid France is sending to Ukraine to fight Putin's war machine.

Heck, Slovakia, a small country, is sending what they can and working to send far more, like S-300 anti-air missiles they possess that were initially a "cutting edge" Soviet missile system that Russia uses and exports, and still very effective. They can reach Russian aircraft bombing Ukrainian cities and military targets that systems like the Stinger can't hit. NATO member Slovakia still has a significant number.

Ukraine has S-300's, knows how to use them, and could effectively use the Slovakian systems, as well as reloads. Slovakia is requesting that NATO countries put missiles in their country to replace what they send to Ukraine. Guess what? Germany has sent a battery of US made Patriot missiles to Slovakia. That's NATO allies working together to help Ukraine. I've been to Slovakia. Bratislava, the capital that sits on the Danube, is a good place to visit.

So what are the French sending?

I am more concerned about global poverty. Poor people in other countries doesnt win elections like it does for Democrats and Republicans in America.

I guess you would continue arguing that Dubya and Cheney are not war criminals.

Assuming you give a **** about poverty, the welfare states of Scandinavia are doing fine. Market fundies have been saying for years that they will go broke.

I saw one report that Russia will run out of ammo. "unnamed senior military officials" of course. Let's assume they are wrong. Then eventually you will have the Russians resorting to carpet bombing as has happened by modern armies since at least from WW II to our and the Russian campaigns in the Middle East. This will kill many times more Ukrainians.

I saw Dem Senator Warner saying that Ukraine is a fight for the American way of life, free speech etc. We are not currently planning to send our own troops over there. However, with a couple of months of sustained media propaganda we could see Americans excited about sending other people's sons and daughters over to Ukraine. Bad timing for Ukraine after the Afghan withdrawal.

I don't think systems can just be plucked and put into any country. America has +300 million, where's the other example of a major country doing what the Scandinavians do? China? Brazil? Indonesia? Nigeria?

Why? What are you doing about it then?

You dismissed the claim that extreme poverty has been greatly reduced.

It's a bot or troll account. They're easy to spot after a while. The profile pics and names have a certain look and feel.

What I can't figure out is if they're actually Russian or originate from the countries they purport to be from. This one is trying to be South African. A lot of social media support from these kind of accounts suddenly appearing from countries that support or abstained from voting against Russia at the UN.

All these fake accounts might also be outsourced to a few companies . As Chinese troll/bot accounts are similiar if not the same. The language is sometimes close to that of an Indian/Phillipines call centre.

I think much of the world views us like a rich uncle. Someone who can be pushy and arrogant at family gatherings but most of the family still puts up with him if just for his money and also because a good story about how he became rich.

As the rich uncle though the family expects him to help out other family members when they have problems. Being very opinionated he doesn’t always help out family he doesn’t like, sometimes puts conditions on his help or sometimes just buts in when he thinks he should be helping.
