Because there isn’t a franchise QB in this draft unless you want to massively reach.

Walker seem to be rising up a lot of mock drafts. I wouldn’t mind picking him up if we trade down a bit.

I don't want them take a qb in this draft. I'm just saying we are gonna be waiting a while.

We will see. Mills has every tool needed to be a new age pro QB. He made plays and throws that only the elite can make last year.

Yeah then he also had probably 3 of the worst games ever by a quarter back in nfl history...

If Mills had been drafted in the first round, no one would be wanting to take another QB. Load up with as much young talent as possible and let’s see how next season unfolds.

Mills was better than Lawrence last year in virtually metric. I guess you’d be willing to move on from Lawrence if we had drafted him?

    Quoted for truth.
Wonder what his position on QB draft board would have been if he waited until this year to come to out?

That's the same thing Daryl Morey said about Joey Dorsey. When he drafted him over DeAndre Jordan. He's a new age center, plays great defense, etc., etc.

I'm hoping Mills plays well BUT I just don't see that one thing that makes him special. At best he's a lower end starter or backup

Oh you’re going kiss a few frogs in the process, that’s part of it. But it doesn’t mean you’re never going to find one. Like I said, I’d keep drafting them until I did.

I've seen mocks all over the place with Hamilton going as high as 2 and as low as 11 and Walker and Thibodeaux being top 3 picks to falling into the Texans range.

It would be amazing if they could address the pass rush and the secondary with the first two picks, though, and get elite prospects with both. Gun to my head, I think I go with Hamilton at 3 as the best surefire prospect on the board and banking on a great edge rusher being there at 13 or in th early second.

That's just my take, though, but the Texans have so many needs, Caserio really can't go wrong as long as he hits with both of those firsts (and he desperately needs to).

I’d trade down before I take a safety that high. There are two ELITE tackle prospects out there who are going to generate major interest ( in the top 5) & if someone falls in love with one of these mediocre QBs, who knows. Trade back and max out the value on those picks.

I don't disagree with that strategy, but historically it feels like teams rarely trade up for non-QB prospects. I could be totally wrong, but trading back feels unlikely.

It seems so weird to be interested in the NFL draft. It’s been years since I’ve even cared.

It wouldn’t bother me if the Texans go heavy on offense in the early rounds. Surround Mills with as much talent as possible to help facilitate his development. We can’t address all our needs in one draft, but we can make life easier for Mills if we give him some real talent to work with.

I agree with Hamilton at 3, if Thibodeaux slides enough pick him up at 13, if not Walker would be a good get as well

I could see this. That's the premise of this mock:
