[Official] Astros Off-Season

Sign Correa, trade Pena and chazzy fizz at the deadline for a Frontline starter if lance is still hurt.

 

Looks like Correa is going to the twins

 

The Astros, meanwhile, are content to let talent walk and hope trades are there later. Click and Crane are way too passive. Luhnow's talent reservoir will dry up eventually.

 

So do the Astros spend the money they didn't spend on Correa?

Although not much free agents remaining. Story, Soler, Conforto. Anyone else? Click turn his attention to a trade?

 

I wouldn’t be surprised too see Tucker and/or Alvarez extensions. ARB years + 2-3 FA years. Story needs too happen. I wouldn’t rule out a CF trade

 

Would be the classic small market Astros move. Can't afford a player leaving for FA so gotta trade what little prospects we have to replace that bat

 

Last year I remember talks around the deadline of teams trading for Story to play CF...

How about they sign Story on short term deal and roll with this...

Can Peña or Story play CF?

 

Could have spent some of that money strengthening the pen but all the good arms are gone now there too

Click has turned us into just another playoff contender

 

Story supposedly signing with Red Sox

 

Red Sox want him at second.
Astros would plug him in at SS… unless Astros have high hopes with Peña.

Can Peña play CF?

 

LOL. Bergman, Alvarez, Tucker, and Altuve are still a force.

 

Why would a good defensive SS play CF?

 

Why do they need Pena to pay CF? Who will play SS?

 

Our lineup really takes a hit with correa leaving.
I'm not looking forward to having a weak 7,8,9 order of Jake/Chaz, Pena, maldy

 

It's pretty clear, which was to be expected when we hired him, that Click is a guy that is gonna trust his farm.

Ultimately we won another pennant last season, so until I actually start seeing the product start to fall off I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt, even if this was an absolutely abysmal offseason IMO.

We shall see how Meyers, Chaz and Pena look by years end.

 

Because he is a rookie and wants to make the team. That is if Peña can play CF and Astros want Story at SS.

 

Story is expected to be signing with the Red Sox

 

Story would play SS in that scenario. The thought would be Story doesn’t want to play 2b in Boston and would come to Houston for SS.

 

And play 2b? He won’t play SS in Boston.

If Astros are interested in Story, they are speaking now. Story would rather play SS then 2b.

But if Astros have higher hopes on Peña then Story will be a Red Sox
