All I know is that Tucker must hit second and Yordan fourth. If dusty fails To hit Tucker second on opening day, he should be fired. I’m not kidding.

It was a historic look at Batting positions, not a projection for 2022. Just look at the information from LAST SEASON.

It actually shows Correa averaged around 5th place in the BO. It then goes on to show where each player played the most, 2nd, third, etc. But Straw was the CF with the most PA, so I had to use his numbers. My order was simply using a formula with 3 and 4 first with highest OPS+, 1 and 2 best OBP from the remaining players, 5 and 6 highest SLG from the remaining players and finally 7,8 and 9 by OBP again.

I'm intrigued by Torques projection. I might tweak it a little, but it's a good one.

Why did you even bother to respond to (and also like a separate post) a post saying Correa hit 7th last year?

It was supporting data from baseball reference along with similar data from the other primary starters.

You were right to be incredulous at the statement Correa bat's 7th when the data clearly shows otherwise. When the subject is baseball, you actually make some sense.

But I probably should have split the response in two. I just cheated by copying my spreadsheet (formula) to make sure I didn't miss a regular player from last season. I should have erased it before posting.

Dusty going with Peña as SS for now. I noticed he had 145 AB’s last year with 41 K’s. That’s quite a bit.

He also bulked up significantly, which could possibly impact bat speed.

Then again, he’s 24 so naturally filling out at this point is completely expected and you hope the improved power offsets the contact.

He was also coming off injury, so timing was probably off.

How is it possible for this thread to have gone so silent the last two days?

Will someone please sign Carlos Correa already?

The phantom Bigger Contract is definitely in play.

Bid against yourself because someone else is just waiting to sign him for more. Usually provided via leaks which are little more than wild speculation.

There’s a lot of smoke about Story possibly to the Red Sox… but he’s reluctant to play 2nd base

At some point, you just have to put a drop dead date on an offer.

Local press is ignoring baseball because of a football trade.

Pineda to Detroit for $5.5M. That has a chance to be a great deal.

Bold Move - Astros could repeat 5-$160 but add a mutual opt out for $12M in year 4. No free player opt out. AAV if player opts out $84M (28M AAV.) AAV if Astros Opt out $108M (36M AAV). But there is a big incentive to complete the Contract. Correa would have to make up $24m over 2 years above the $64 in the contract or get an $88M offer to break even. The Astros essentially have to replace Correa at an AAV of less than $26M AAV to break even. Only extraordinarily Great or extraordinarily Poor play would trigger a buyout.

Make it a take it or leave it offer which expires 1AM Tuesday Morning. Open ended offers can be withdrawn on a moments notice right up until the time it is accepted or refused.

It won't happen, but it's fun to speculate it will.
