NFL owners will not like this new found liberty from players to demand out. This is what has been going on in the NBA for years and now it's coming to the NFL. QBs are demanding trades and the teams no longer have control of the players.
I really miss it. He gave the Texans so much hope. He just had to be weird about his fetishes. The Texans are a terrible franchise so I'm not exactly excited about the pick haul they'll receive. I also wouldn't be surprised to see DeShaun win a super bowl with his next team. Houston sports always seem to get owned in some way like that.
The days of guys staying loyal til retirement are long gone. It's a money grab game now. Add baseball players to that list too.
Dont let a subreddit fool you. Reddit is one giant circle jerk. They will love him in Atlanta for his exciting play. One or two good seasons with a clean off the field record and no one will remember his scandals except Texans fans.
The NFL has plenty of issues that need to get ironed out more than players wanting freedom of movement. CTE mitigation should be the only concern on the docket until that gets minimized. It's a league that turns a blind eye to basically everything including physical abuse caught on camera in the name of money. God forbid you take a ****ing knee. That will get you in more trouble than raping women.
That's not necessarily true. His new team fans might take that attitude, but a lot of others, even outside Texas will always look at him differently.
What is the over under in how fast Watson will lose his money in the divorce after he marries this intellectual juggernaut he's going out with now...
Sure but the fans who matter the most will still like him. Tyreke Hill gets no reaction anymore yet look at his past beating women. Kareem Hunt was cheered at the NBA All Star Celebrity Game and his drop kick was seen by everyone. All it takes is time and people will forget. Texans fans will be the only fanbase with strong feelings because of what DeShaun/Hopkins could have been as we were supposed to watch them grow for the next 7 years, and the fact it was stripped away so quickly.
This is weird to say, but I don't fault him for his kinks. I think a lot of people have them and they don't get aired publicly like his did. He's just a moron for the way he's handled himself, and the way he went about handling his guilty pleasures. I'll even go as far to say as I bet a significant enough portion of NFL players do something similar to what he was doing. They just obtain proper documented consent or handle their business correctly. However, that may be. That's not a defensive him. It probably just proves more on a low intellect type thing. Maybe he's a football savant and not very smart on the streets. Who knows? He really should have been smarter in covering his bases and not being a borderline predator. Though I feel wrong calling him a predator, because I think in his thick skull what he was doing was legal.
Any woman who would marry him after what he did while he was dating her is not an intellectual. Maybe more of a gold digger.
He could have hired escorts or hookers. The shock and awe was the thrill. More stalker and creepy than kinky.
