The Jalen Green of Feb/March is what I was expecting late December/January and I was thinking why? Why the late development later in the season? Then I remembered Jalen Green missed most of November with a hamstring issue. So a slight delay.
I got a receipt where I a had a better more realistic comp for Cade. I don't even get paid for this **** and I'm more competent than these so called experts.
Just to be clear, these comps aren't subjective based. It's purely math based with comparing the current rookie class with those players when they were rookies from a pure numbers perspective.
That move was filthy. If he's going to stop and separate like that on a dime there is absolutely nothing the defender can do. Not even an all NBA defender would be able to do much other than just get his hands up. This kid is special.
Not only that my guy this thread has become a happy space! Started from the bottom now we here! Its fantastic to see Jalen unite ROX Bros again. Add a couple of pieces to the puzzle and Houston basketball will be back - better than ever!
last night all his buckets were impressive. the slip screen dunk tho, he was just an absolute blur. incredible to watch.
Green really is showing his full tool box over the last month, his game has really come together. He's doing it all without a functional roster around him. No PG getting the team in good sets and players that really don't move the ball willingly. This is an extremely me-centric team and that includes Green.
I'm amazed at the consistency in the last month, I didn't think he'd have any game-to-game consistency like this all season, especially with him being like the 3rd option on the team. I really can't wait until he has the ball in his hands more, hopefully next year!
LOL - he is not the third option....my gawd where does this come from? There is no NUMBER 1 option, though Green is tending that direction.... 3rd option....lol - puhhhhleasse! DD
Out of players who have played significant minutes, he is #3 in usage rate. That's literally the definition of third option. Also, he is fifth on the team in touches per game. We don't have a traditional #1 option because no one has established themselves to be a star level player on the team, but Green has not been the focal point of our offense so far this year (unlike a Cade Cunningham for instance).
He also plays the pf position where it's watered down. Put him against a center and he will get exposed.
Touches per game: KPJ (naturally as the PG) = 70 Christian Wood = 57 Eric Gordon = 47.7 Jalen Green = 46.3 Jae Sean = 43.4
The only way to stop Green is by giving him a forearm shiver to the obliques knocking him back and the refs would call a travel =) The night before, The Clippers center thought he was going up against Wood again, dropped 20+.
Look at this one. On Bridges again. If y’all don’t know, Bridges is top 3 right now for defensive player of the year consideration along with Giannis and Gobert. He guards the other team’s best perimeter player every night.
