True, but you can't satisfy everyone in a country this big. I think the majority of Americans would rather just stay on DST. Maybe states up by Canada can just do their own thing.
Back when Nixon was president and there was an energy crisis, they passed a year round DST bill. After 2 years, public support went way down and they reinstated standard time similar to the dates we have now.
I think each state should decide on its own whether they want to make it permanent. I'd like it down here.
