Yes if Poland goes in alone but Russia responds by launching attacks on Polish territory we might be obligated to defend Poland. This is the Guns of August type situation that is why I've said war might be inevitable..

Poland is bearing the brunt of the the refugees out of Ukraine and has already said their resources to handle that are being stressed. Poland also previously been one of the governments that were against taking refugees (granted those were refugees from the Middle East and Africa) so the government might be feeling pressure to do something more about the situation.

I just skimmed the last few pages of the thread but while this might be just more internet poo flinging these type of debates are happening all around this country and another sign of how divided we are and how politically difficult it might be to sustain a major conflict.

Ahhhh the Taco Cabana days. I remember when Bellaire and 59 was a decent area. My cousin and I had about 4 pitchers of margaritas and started on the 5th. We decided we didn't want to finish it there on the patio. She tried going over their little iron fence and I went through the front. They busted her and tried to take the margaritas. She convinced them to let us return to the patio and finish our pitcher. The good ol days.

Back in my day ... we used to Invade Ukraine at the local Taco Cabana ... after midnight and 4 or 5 pitchers of margaritas ... uphill in the snow, both ways.

Agreed. Seems what is considered acceptable or even honest disagreement has changed dramatically in the past few years. The "politicization" of every aspect of American life has driven a deeper wedge between Americans and I am afraid it will be difficult to get back to where Americans unite to solve problems let alone defeat a common foe. I am afraid the "American experiment" may be on the road to failure.

    Kids these days..
They don't know what it's like to haul a Russian multiple launch system three miles through snow in the middle of a Texas Summer.

Yes. During the height of COVID restrictions and people complaining about that they can't go to the bar or have to wear masks at Costco I would often think about the type of hardships that Americans faced during WWII. Not just in the battlefield but here at home.

There was rationing, blackouts on the East and West coast not to mention the detention of thousands of Americans. I doubt that our country could handle that anymore.

Do trump supporters even believe his bizarre lies anymore? trump timed this statement to go out right after Ukraine president's address to congress... because it is always about himself.

It is not desirable or necessary for us to instigate a major conflict here, much less for us to sustain one.

I don’t know if Taco Cabana necessarily shares the politics of this board’s conservatives.

In any case, I’m going to assume that when he proposed taking me out, ROXRAN meant take me out on a date. However, it takes a lot more than Taco Cabana to get me to step out on my wife.

The rest of you have my promise that I won’t further contribute to the derailing of this thread, and my apologies for pushing it as far as it went.
