Here is what I dont understand... Lattimore, Ramczyk, Davenport, Kamara, Thomas all have just restructured their deals. If those players are included in the deal here is how much their cap is decreased: Cam Jordan-21m Lattimore-27m Kamara-13m Davenport-6.5 million I just don't see how any of these players are in the deal. So in what world does the saints package come close to comparing with the other teams?
Which of these deals would be the best? Carolina Panthers Houston receives: 2022 first-round pick (#6) 2022 fourth-round pick (#108) 2023 first-round pick 2023 second-round pick 2024 first-round pick DE Brian Burns CB C.J. Henderson Carolina receives: QB Deshaun Watson 2022 sixth-round pick (#183) New Orleans Saints Houston receives: 2022 first-round pick (#18) 2022 second-round pick (#49) 2023 first-round pick 2023 third-round pick 2024 first-round pick OL Erik McCoy CB Paulson Abedo DE Payton Turner New Orleans receives: QB Deshaun Watson 2022 sixth-round pick (#183) Cleveland Browns Houston receives: 2022 first-round pick (#13) 2022 second-round pick (#44) 2023 first-round pick 2023 third-round pick CB Greg Newsome III RB Kareem Hunt Cleveland receives: QB Deshaun Watson 2022 fourth-round pick (#137) Atlanta Falcons Houston receives: 2022 first-round pick (# 8) 2022 second-round pick (# 43) 2022 second-round pick (# 58) 2022 third-round pick (#74) 2022 third-round pick (# 83 via IND) 2023 first-round pick 2024 first-round pick CB A.J. Terrell. Atlanta receives: QB Deshaun Watson 2022 sixth-round pick (#183) 2023 fifth-round pick
No way we trade for hunt. I also value this year's first more than subsequent years bc I think each team will get better with Watson. That's why I prefer a top 10 pick of atl and Carolina. I don't want to have 4 picks from another team this draft so that's why I like Carolina more
I’m with you on future picks, but I’m anticipating an 8 game suspension for Watson, so I think 2023 might still be an ok pick. Unfortunately, none of the front runners have multiple firsts in this draft. It’s a toss-up between ATL and NO for me.
[Premium Post] Nick & Jack looking for 5-6 Premium Assets to consummate the deal. I take a similar approach when I go to El Miau Miau in Mexicali.
Aaron Wilson on Twitter spaces gave some insight tonight on how this trade process is working out. I don’t want to quote him incorrectly but from what I’ve gathered- each team has submitted a trade offer to come to the table to meet with Watson. A trade offer that Nick finds suitable. Once Deshaun meets with the teams, he will choose which team(s) he wants- and Nick will hammer out the final details on the trade based off the original proposal from the acquiring team. The parameters are in place. Side note: an Indy guy(not sure how credible) is reporting that IF Deshaun were to choose Cleveland- that Cleveland would ship Baker Mayfield to Indy for their 1st rd pick and that the Indy AND the Cleveland 1st rd pick would be part of the Cleveland package
It would be the most Texans thing ever to trade Watson and not get a QB in return, because muh Davis Mills?! Really?! No reason they shouldn’t include Mayfield in the package if it’s Cleveland. Davis Mills might end up being a good player, or he might not. The Texans shouldn’t be locked into Davis Mills at this point.
From their FA signings it seems like the plan is to tank and look in the 2023 draft for a qb if Mills is not the guy.
If Mills isn’t the guy, they’ll probably be picking first next year and can get the top QB rather than having to re-sign Baker to a new deal. You don’t wan’t to pay big money to a QB during a rebuild.
If this is true, I hope its an overpay because their picks are later and with their team, he's likely going to get them to the playoffs next year.
I'm right there with you, after everything I've seen, I think New Orleans has the worst picks as well as the worst collection of young talent... I know we'll get a haul no matter what happens, but that Carolina deal was looking NICE!
NO? I'm chuckling to myself at the thought of making Watson happy and putting him on a playoff built team while we walk away with a few low picks
Ladies and Gentlemen, allow me to introduce you to our 2022 starting quarterback, Taysom Hill! Saints have the worst trade package!
Tony Buzbee says none of the teams interested in trading for Deshaun Watson have reached out regarding the 22 civil claims pending against him
