https://www.profootballnetwork.com/...-deshaun-watson-falcons-up-next-on-wednesday/ Many sources have characterized the Saints as a leading candidate for Watson with others calling it a wide-open process. Watson is expected to conduct his due diligence, just as the teams are with him while the Texans have exchanged contract proposals with the Saints and Panthers and will see which teams Watson waives the no-trade clause for in his $156 million contract, per sources. It amounts to a collaborative process. If the Texans traded Watson to the Browns, which isn’t regarded as the most likely scenario, sources said they wouldn’t want Cleveland starting quarterback Baker Mayfield as part of the deal. The Browns aren’t sold on Mayfield as their starter and could look to trade him to another team even if they don’t acquire Watson. The Browns’ leadership team attempted to convince Watson that he should waive the no-trade clause in his $156 million contract for them one day after he met with the New Orleans Saints and the Carolina Panthers, according to sources. Both the Saints and Panthers have submitted trade proposals for Watson, per sources. The Saints are regarded as a potential leader at this stage for Watson.
I hate that he is essentially a free agent and is whining and dining with teams while being paid. I almost would want the Texans to tell him this is the team you are going to or suit up for us next season and either play or not her paid. Guarantee a year or 2 of not getting paid will make that trade veto less influencial
That used to be the case... That rule changed a couple of years ago. Ain't crazy, bro... you thought that because it used to be true.
Don't know what's taking so long in cutting Murray and restructuring Cooks. After the Deshaun trade, they should be looking at $60 milly. Who was the fan/ poster that suggested and started a thread about trading Watson to rebuild before the allegations and before Calhoun did Calhoun things? Everyone thought he belonged in an Asylum. Props.
Why does Jack Easterby have a say at all in this? @Mr.Scarface repeatedly told me that Easterby has no input on player personnel.
