Adapting to a new league, the best league is honestly challenging without having played HS and College in the States. So I do think we need to give foreign players more credit and rope here. I think DMo's appeal goes beyond numbers, he looked fluid in his moves that is why he was so loved around here. And he looked like Russell Crowe meets James McAvoy. Sure he has not reached borderline All Star status. He was not even Scola. Average Per is around 14 so he was not a total scrub.
There was one Green onlyfan and he peaced out after 2 months, lol. Everything else is on point. Good explanation.
I was hoping both Terrence Jones and D-Mo would develop and was giving each 3 to 4 years; but neither made it and both were out of the league soon after. D-Mo had his best season in his 3rd year and had a PER of 14.4 (his highest) before the back injury. PER of 20 or higher is All Star or borderline All Star not under average 14.4. so for someone to say D-Mo was borderline All Star is slapping dog s### on a plate and calling it steak. Lies. If we put TJ's skill (PER of 19 his 2nd season) into D-Mo and D-Mo skills into TJ.....people would have been raving about D-Mo and saying nothing about TJ post up game. So yeah it's all about the looks. I refuse to call Garrison Mathews Gary Bird because that's an insult to Larry Bird. Garrison is more like Kyle Korver. Armoni Brooks, Kenyon, Jalen Green all are G.Q. models but they never get talked about being handsome but if they were white they sure would be. I get it, people don't want to be called out so they can feel better and sleep well at night. I'm ok with that; but just don't come here and tell me D-Mo or Sengun right now or was/is an All Star. D-Mo wasn't that quality ever and Sengun isn't either.....not just yet. I give Sengun 3 to 4 years like every other rookie.
I actually recall T-Jones trending pretty well until his collapsed lung incident. He just never seemed the same after that. D-Mo also had some promising flashes and seemed like he was on his way to becoming a respectable shooter from deep. It's a shame that injuries / happenstance took its toil on both players. At least D-Mo has his rights though!
I don't call him Gary Bird either. Mathews definitely not Korver. Korver is a deadly 3 pts shooter. Mathews is a hustler. Play hard. Throw his body around and hope to draw foul. T-Jone and D-Mo showed so many flashed. Too bad injury hurt them. Our medical team must be suck since they aren't the same after injury.
These numbers surprised me. We were hoping JG could have a breakout similar to Anthony Edwards not too long ago, but Is Jalen already showing that he can become a better player than Antman?
This draft was crazy. So crazy that 2 second rounders in Herb Jones and Ayo Dosunmu will probably make an all rookie team.
and some of them even when undrafted. Neemias Quieta and Isiah Mobley both centers would've been great back-up centers. Actual 7 footers
Oh and that little point guard with the corn rows that cooked us last game lol Edit: Jose Alvarado. Had to look him up lmao
I usually don't put much stock in comps. I like to see things play out but I am glad Green is starting to get recognition for his improvement
Mobley wasn't in the draft. Or maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're saying. Not sure what Neemias has done to warrant attention. I don't think he can even get any minutes on Sacramento.
