You do understand fuel efficiency? Do trucks use more or less gasoline than sedans?

Oil producers in a ‘dire situation’ and unable to ramp up output, says Oxy CEO

Supply chain issues and labor shortages are devastating the industry. O&G companies had $300 billion in bankruptcies from 2019-2021.... you think those skilled tens of thousands of workers who lost theirs job are just going to come back?

Hmm if only the Democrats had identified the reliance on fossil fuels as an ongoing threat from foreign interdependence from bad actors, and a destructive force on our planet....and built a major platform around it.

    Yet another L for Commodore.

So please tell me where’s the electric vehicle that can take the avg family of 4 with 2 kids, luggage, toys, diapers etc. on a measly 200 mile trip the hill country without….. wait for it…

Having to take a 10 hour pit stop halfway there to charge your EV on a ****ing diesel powered generator? LOL

Look, I’m all for electric vehicles for the guy/gal that drives 15 min to work and has no kids, baseball practice, carpooling kids friends, and the list goes on. To each their own and no judgement there. Just stop with the lunacy of “buy an EV! You won’t have to worry about high gas prices!” Its that type of blanket statement that gets us where we are today.

Meanwhile your electric bill, which has a high chance of coming from coal burning plants, goes up $200+ a month. EVs are a cool and all, but people don’t realize the amount of mining, etc. that goes into just making one EV battery. All powered by fossil fuels to do it.

We got way faster at drilling and completing wells. You can probably do it in a 14-20 days. Thats why a lot of those jobs aren't coming back.

The problem is you still need workers and equipment, both of which are in very short supply. Frack sand is even in short supply.

We did get faster and more efficient but the industry just went through an 80s style bust. After years of capitol mismanagement, companies are trying to return capital to shareholders and investors (which are declining after $300 billion in bankruptcies).

Why does it have to electric? I specifically mentioned gas powered sedans and small SUVs. What's wrong with an Accord or Camry? The average family size is 3.1, but you can still fit two kids in the back of a sedan with the diapers, luggage, toys, etc in the trunk.

I'm with you on your EV stance with a full family/road trips but he didn't mention anything close to "just buy an EV".

You know why? Contract Drillers stack Rigs because Oil Companies end contracts when Oil Prices go below $75 dollars or gas prices are in the low $2 range. They layoff workers because there isn't ENOUGH profit for them. When prices rise again....they try to put Rigs in the field, and then scramble to try to find people to work them. This is an Oil industry created problem.

    I own a hybrid.

500 miles if I feel like driving like ****. 600 if others think I drive like ****.

Pump still hurts. Not as much as the pickup truck driver who wants to do the 200 mile 4 fam camping scenario though.

I think I save 4x as much as that guy.
