Duren would not work for this Silas's offense because he want his big men to shoot outside and be able to dribble.....Duren is just a big body that play defense but cannot shoot the 3's

I think we should draft Chet or Jabari and draft Jovic from Serbia. He is 6'10 and play like a guard, he would be great defensively and he can shoot the three and can cut to the basket.

Wait, do you mean to tell me that a team that is currently 17-51 has holes in their lineup? Surely you jest.

Chet can play the 5.... and so can Mobley.... both are also capable of playing the 4 too.

Chet defensively is light years ahead of Sengun defensively as a 5.

I don't have an issue with the Rockets deciding to add another defensive center later in this draft, there are a number of good ones available.

I'm not concerned about Silas' system because he won't be around by the time that the Rockets are good.

Duren needs to improve his skill set, but he has started hitting mid range shots the last 3 weeks.

Jovic is someone that I wouldn't have a problem with the Rockets taking with the NETS pick.

I am on record as believing in KPJ as a point guard. I think he has shown this year that, on balance, he is an average point guard. He has a lot to work on to move forward and become more than seviceable. His awareness needs serious work. I think he spent last offseason celebrating his own success, reveling in the 50 point game, playing celebrity tournaments and tweeting that he was a point guard. Rather than living in the gym and becoming more familiar with his teammates. Yet he still improved. His defense and his outside shot both are appreciably better this year. In my ming, KPJ doesnt need to be Stockton or Paul. Green doesnt need the ball out of his hands that much. Its already been mentioned what a successful PG needs to be for this team: a good defender and spot up shooter who can lead a break and play steady. KPJ is already there in some aspects but he needs consistency that will come with time. Nix... wtf knows. He certainly has promise and so long as expectations are that he is a 15 mpg backup then I doubt anyone gets too terribly invested. Obviously he could be much more.

I like the idea of a Sengun/Garuba combo at center. I think Garuba can be very effective against second units even if he might be undersized. This also mitigates some of his offensive struggles. Sengun has been discussed here sufficiently: He can work but will need some significant help if he is to not be a sieve defensively. I would definitely add a 5 in the draft as Garuba insurance (both in case he fails and in case he plays well enough to man the 4). Luckily there are several bigs that will probably be available in the second should Stone acquire a pick there.

I believe we need more height on the wing. Keegan Murray deserves a look but for obvious reasons, we will pick either Chet or Ivey. If we can trade up to 7th or 8th spot, I really think we should take him.

Maybe at the moment. Tate is on expiring mini next year & I don’t want pay him. It’s like cashing in on nothing. We get a asset that fills needs.

DOESN'T MATTER WHO WE DRAFT, SIGN OR TRADE.....UNTIL WE GET A LEGIT HC, NOTHING ELSE MATTERS.

We don't know how effective our current players are until they play in an effective and disciplined system that can maximize their potential.

I've been a Rockets fan since the late 70's and this is by and far the worst coaching I have ever witnessed.

Maybe not, but if we’re drafting 19th for instance getting a starter is pretty rare anyway.

Imagine Ivey and Green running 2 on 1 with Duren trailing

We’d be top on the top 10 plays every game.., maybe even get a national game or two :D

That is a sick level of athleticism and would cover for Sengun nicely … I’d move KPJ to 6th man but this would be our death lineup

Like the guys you like now because in 3 years probably only 3 guys will remain from this squad.

Just the nature of it, but especially true for a club filled with rookies and players with similar games.

    Just a matter of when.

Am I the only one 100% sure Chet gets thrown around more than even Wood. We don’t need another toothpick center who specializes in three pointers. HE WILL BE WORSE THAN BOL BOL AND HASHEEM THABEET. WILL NOT SOLVE OUR CENTER PROBLEM.

When watching him actually play he doesn’t look anything like any of the players you named, imo.

Yes they are tall and skinny players, but just like other tall and skinny successful players he will need to add muscle.
That seems like something he should be able to do given that he’s still just 19.

But that aside, when I watch him play he does not block shots, play defense or rebound with strength. He does it with length, timing and want to.

For instance Chet vs Wood: I’m pretty sure Chet’s standing reach will be quite a bit longer than Woods seeing as he’s taller and is already listed with a longer wingspan. Also, Wood clearly doesn’t have the tenacity or mental makeup to play against other bigs. He’s been seen several times having his much smaller teammates pick up the opposing bigs because he’s rather guard smaller players.

Chet may end up being a bust. I don’t know. But Christian Wood and Bol Bol would have nothing to do with it. And I’m not even sure why Thabeet was brought up other than you just wanted to throw a busts name in there since he was never considered to be rail thin.

If you’re going to throw Thabeet in them you’d have to also put in Garnett, Ralph Sampson, Rudy Gobert etc…

Manute Bol is a closer comparison to Chet body wise than Thabeet.

This would be ideal. Duren is looking like a legit big man.

Does anyone know if Khalifa Diop is related to Rockets coach Desagana? Son? If so, might be able to take a flyer on him if he goes undrafted?

I did some googling but couldn't establish a connection other than surname and being Senegalese.

I think the case is to draft 2 taller forwards, and neither a PG nor a C.

    Smith as a 4/3
Then one of Eason/ Brown/ Sochan or Jovic

With a system and ROLE with in the system Wall is more than capable. At his price point he isn’t going anywhere anyway.
