You know what average centers are not used to seeing? Double teams. I don't get why we don't try to trap and double these bigs who are going off on us. Why do we choose to let them toy with our bigs. If I was woods I'd be so embarrassed by that one shot their big out up where he shot over him without jumping. Disgusting

Honestly, addressing this question is pretty easy: it's Sengun. That is oversimplifying it but it really boils down to how Silas/Rockets want to use him moving forward. He's no Jokic right now but he has the skills/talent to be one of the primary facilitators on offense already. If the longterm outlook for Sengun is to be a poor man's version of Jokic then the organization can probably afford to keep the Porter/Green backcourt for now and just adjust the offense to allow Alperen to create more opportunities for his teammates. There's no immediate solution at point guard anyways out there unless you're willing to cough up assets for Dejounte Murray (I am but that's just me). At the center, if we luck into a top 2 pick you either help Sengun out by selecting Holmgren so Chet can anchor the paint while Sengun defends the 4 or you pick Smith and have Sengun man the middle. If we somehow get sent down the draft order to, say, the 4th pick you take BPA. Any way you slice it Sengun is part of the equation; the only thing that changes is where he'll be in that equation. Signing a veteran PG and center is a definite must for sure. I only hope and pray that Silas don't start looking at these vets as starter material and recognize that they are here to play back up minutes and to be the older voice, more experienced voice in the locker room.
Draft Chet, Sign Nurkic, play Nix, use KPJ as the 6th man. Still need to find a SF that is 6'7-6'9 that is 3-D like Horry or to a lesser extent Ariza. Maybe this will keep opponents from regularly putting up 130 on them.
Dejounte Murray is that player. Spotty 3 point shot, very good defender, keeps the turnovers low (9.3 assists/2.6 TOs per game), but can actually finish around the basket unlike Ricky.
Bill Laimbeer would be an excellent choice. We would benefit in a different ways and would still have growing pains but they would look completely different. His playing style would very much fit into today’s game. He found success in the WNBA —> fundamentals.
DayRon Sharpe For Tate We get bigger & keep the youth movement going. They get the better “now” player.
I really like Williams, he's going to make some team a fine defensive anchor. If the Rockets were to miss out on all of Chet / Smith / Banchero, there's Williams & Kessler who both should be available with the Brooklyn pick. I think they are pretty comparable players, Williams a little more limited offensively but he knows his role and sticks to it. The team needs a quality point but I don't see any top tier players at the position available either in the draft or FA. I'd strongly consider keeping Schroder around with the young guys - he's been instrumental in getting Green going and seems to have taken to the role. If worst came to worst and they ended up with the #5 pick coming away with Griffin and one of Wiliams / Kessler is a solid outcome. Either of those bigs solves a lot of the Rockets defensive problems.
