IF TRUE... The Panthers wouldn't be going through these gymnastics if they weren't given the greenlight by the Watson camp. If they start trading or cutting their high priced contracts, that would be a clear indicator.
It also makes it to where Deshaun nor his agent can dictate the return in any way possible. Either you wanna go there or you don’t, butt man. Love this from Caserio
This is standard. No GM is going to waste time negotiating when the deal could be torpedoed by a 3rd party. I like Caserio, but everyone falling all over themselves to polish his nuts after Friday is pretty embarrassing.
Hoping the teams that are losing interest in Watson are aware of the potential package Carolina is willing to offer. It's sounding like the Texans could get more in return than some originally thought. Makes sense now with no charges, but I'm glad the Texans waited to pull the trigger.
Spoiler *Eagles reportedly out *Steelers reportedly out *Aren’t trading him to the Colts What’s so appealing about the Panthers? OK, the 6th pick and…? Jeremy Chinn & Brian Burns reportedly off the table (could be posturing) Want no part of Christian McCaffrey. *Just assuming these teams have their future picks, I could be wrong. *No idea what players, if any, they’d include (but will throw out some names anyways) Browns: —2022 13th(1st rd) —2022 44th(2nd rd) —2022 78th(3rd rd) —2022 98th(3rd rd) —2022 105th(4th rd) —2022 116th(4th rd) —2023 Own 1st —2023 Own 2nd —2023 Own 3rd —Denzel Ward?; Greedy Williams?; Grant Delpit?; Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah?; (Veterans Kareem Hunt? Out on Tampa and again, Carolina ain’t that appealing.
A concern is that Carolina knows they are the best option and don't have serious competition for the trade. Hopefully we can find at least one other credible alternative to create a bidding war.
I disagree on Carolina, assuming you can get them to add Burns and Horn, possibly. The Bucs could give more enticing players than I thought. I doubt that Seattle would give DK or Lockett, but that would be appealing. Also, the reports are a little conflicting. I understood he would waive his clause for Carolina, not for everybody in general.
