Hmmmm….watching the game last night I had a heart palpitation as I wasn’t paying attention and thought the Rockets for a brief moment brought back the iconic legend Kenneth “the Manimal” Faried!!! Watched a lot of Bruno at Maryland and if given the opportunity, he will be loved in Houston because he doesn’t miss close range shots and plays with hustle, energy, and flare like the fore mentioned “Manimal”. Only negative is that he doesn’t shoot threes, but we have enough (bad) three point shooters on the team to keep hoisting up that particular shot.
With the worst record in the NBA, at least it gives a reason (other than Jaylen Green) to be excited to watch the next few games. You’re correct that he’s not as good as all star level Faried, but I definitely think he’ll impress IF given the opportunity. Rare credit to Silas for leaving him in the game last night and giving him the opportunity to shine. Question is if he’ll play him next game with Wood back. Nothing to lose as we should be tanking for the first pick at this point with only 15 games left.
Is he the new highly overrated PF who makes flashy dunks but will wash out of the league entirely before he's 30? I kind of hope not.
No, but good game last night. Good for him. Did offer a few skills from the position we haven’t seen all year. Shot blocking and vertical spacing as a lob threat.
If he did we can have CA say “Bruno from Mars’ on a long 3 point shot! He looked really crisp last night.
And then this very OP starts multiple threads about how dumb the Rockets are for not retaining them. Let's hope Bruno's team defense & rotations are significantly better than Manimal.
