I have @durvasa to thank for that. Back when I was young and immature I would spout off things that were more of the "eye test" subjective argument that were debunked by the stats he showed. I'd say that was around the time I thought drinking jaegermeister was not a bad thing.
That’s my point. The argument I’m reading now is there was no way to predict a player would improve as much as he has, that if you play as bad as he started that you had capped yourself at some certain ceiling. I’m saying if you never bought into that he is as terrible as he was playing then the level to which he has improved wouldn’t be so surprising.

Hey let's not totally dismiss Jaeger! I loved my debates with Durvasa. He was/is a true contrarian. I think he did it just to go into solid debates with reason and analytics but I've always respected him.
Data is important and has it's place but I don't like to rely only on data (which I'm not suggesting you're doing). By all metrics Green was bad to start the season but for rookies they don't apply to the same extent as they do for vets. Green showed potential to anyone who was willing to see it and that's all I care about in the first couple of years for rookies. A good combination of data and eye test(as long as it's not Booby's eyes) is where it's at imo.
