What is it with people just comparing white players to other white players that play nothing like them.

Chet has ball handling skills and defensive ability more akin to Durant.

You just brought back memories of Asik and his stone hands.

Chet does seem like the best overall prospect . (Outside of someone else growing an inch or two )

buuuuuut , I feel like Jabari might be the best shooting big I’ve ever seen .

draft time / scout time becomes exciting when you are a bottom team

Evan Mobley can actually dribble, unlike Jabari.

    This is a terrible take.

I hope he makes it. He's a little bit slow so far to be compared to Durant.

Chet and Mobley are about the two most similar players to compare.
They have some advantages over each other but very comparable.

Like others have said, if Jabari handle was better he would/should be the top prospect.

If Chet was 20 lbs heavier it wouldn’t be a discussion.

If Paolo was a little more explosive and/or longer it wouldn’t be a discussion.

Chet is literally one of the fastest 7 footers you will ever see.
He isn’t even remotely slow, not even average.
Don’t let the gangly look of it fool you.

For seven footers, yup. But compared to Durant...

Durant is considered a 7 footer. Chet is fast for any guy 6’9 and up.
I’ll be willing to bet his 3/4 sprint is among the fastest at the combine

Also, Durant isn’t overly athletic. He was one of the poorest athletes when he tested at the combine. He’s fluid and coordinated. Highly skilled to go along with ridiculous size for his position.

Durant just needs to be average in terms of athleticism given his length. Just look at those lengthy arms. Now, in the first place, it's Chet vs Durant. What I've been saying is that Chet's too slow compared to Durant.

Chet isn’t slower than Durant. That is what I’m telling you.
Also, Chet is much longer than Durant. So by your logic he doesn’t have to be as athletic (which he is)

Wasn't Durant the one who couldn't bench press 180 pounds one time?

If you get the #1 pick, you bring in both to workout with Sengun. Draft the one that meshes better with him. Both play with other bigs on their current teams at Gonzaga and Auburn respectively. I don't think you miss with either one, but I think at some point you have to start considering team fit and how their skills mesh with the current core. If you fall out of the top 2, I don't think Banchero's the guy you want, maybe Griffin from Duke instead. We need bigs and wings, no more ****ing guards.

I like Chet but man am I worried about his body and being injury prone

Jabari and Banchero for me are the safer picks

Interesting read (apologies if already posted) - The Legend of Chet Holmgren, 7-Foot String Bean, Has Just Begun - The Ringer

There is legitimate concern about his pencil-thin frame
"Still, virtually every breakdown of Holmgren as a prospect comes back to one main point: The kid has to gain weight. ESPN’s Mike Schmitz called Holmgren “paper-thin”; SB Nation’s Ricky O’Donnell wrote Holmgren “badly needs to add strength”; RealGM’s Rafael Uehara said the concerns about Holmgren’s frame are “truly significant”; 247Sports’ Travis Branham noted Holmgren is “very far behind many of his peers” physically."

However, the counter is that gaining too much weight can affect his agility, fluidity and frame
"What if Holmgren just doesn’t bulk up? What if this is the way his body is supposed to be, and adding weight would mess with his speed and make him more prone to injuries? Holmgren has emerged as a bewildering offensive force and spectacular rim protector not just in spite of his frame, but in many ways because of it. His agility is one of his greatest assets, and he routinely blocks players who thought they had open looks after pushing him around. What if he thrives by breaking the mold instead of conforming?"

Why is anyone worried about Holmgren's strength? The NBA is not a league that runs through the post anymore on a night to night basis. Just look at how being fat and out of shape as ruined Zion's career so far.

Yao adding too much weight ended his career, as his feet couldn't handle it.
