I don't work anymore, but have thought about getting a job purely for fun instead of salary. I thought about seeing if I could get into a grading company to get into collectibles on the "serious" side of it -- like the grading, presenting, sales, etc. The only thing I've collected in the past decade or so has been comic books, and it's the same as you said in there. Grading is taking months to get your books back because of the volume of people collecting/investing now.

In a sense, I'm kind of happy the prices went up for grading because it may stop people sending in a comic that just came out to be graded a 9.8 and then getting dumped on the market and bought by dumbasses that can watch it drop after they pay $100 for it. lol.

    Dream retirement job:

-Pretending to be a Home Depot worker so I can walk around talking to people about projects
-Sanford, picking up nice trash in my beat up truck and finding hidden gems (hey, that could be a Discovery channel show)
    -Pressure washing anything. So satisfying
    -Streaker

i got in heavy with comics back in 2016. Won quite a few key issues via raffles on Instagram accounts. Cashed out the following year to use towards the down payment on my house lol

Yeah, prices have gone bonkers the past few years. It's really nuts with pretty much any collectible. I've debated selling my collection, but I'll probably just hang on to it for now. It's not going to make or break me, and, who knows... maybe one of them will go up to be a 5 or 6 figure comic in 20 years. lol. I've only got something like 1300 of them and they're already taking up too much space. I've seen people with collections of 10,000-15,000 and I have no idea how they store them. They probably need a new house just for the collection. I'm already looking at how to get some attic space converted into comic storage space if I buy a new house. lol. That's what I like about owning stocks - they don't really take up any space. :D
