https://gasprices.aaa.com/ new All Time High nationwide, $4.25/gal I think Biden doesn't suspend the gas tax any time soon because 1) it would be sacrilege for the left to reduce a tax on fossil fuels and 2) doing it now will have no political impact for November, as the price increases will overwhelm any tax reduction
Gas prices will get even higher and will skyrocket if we do get into war with Russia. This is again though why I don't think we as a country or a society are prepared to fight a major sustained war. Everyone talks about how we need to do more for Ukraine but are whining about what are relatively mild consequences of doing things like cutting the international oil supply and the fall out from economic sanctions. I can't imagine how our current population would react to the rationing and other restrictions that it took to fight WWII.
Hmm... I wonder if lil' marco purposely cherrypicked years to compare in order to continue to be a partisan hack?
Have you guys looked at the price of flying these days? I might have to hold my nose and start flying commercial with the unwashed (yet masked) masses. Just kidding, I won't do that. But anyway, the point is the cost has skyrocketed. Bad energy policy + bad foreign policy = degradation in our quality of life. Thanks Biden.
First, I have voted Republican 1/3 of the time, if not more. I just cannot support stupidity, which is the current GOP leadership. The current GOP is pandering and self interested. Trump, Cruz, Graham and others have destroyed the Party as it currently exists. Second, why would the Democrats be "lockstep and on the same page"? They haven't been often in history. Last, that video wasn't funny or really informative. I was expecting something entertaining at least and it was just lame.
Here are some other recent Trump predictions........ The USA will not be a country by 2024 “And you go to these elections coming up in ’22 and ’24 — we’re not going to have a country left,” Trump said. “The election was rigged, and we’re not going to have a country left in three years, I’ll tell you that.”
It was Trump that negotiated the cut in oil production back in 2020: https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...se-u-s-military-support-sources-idUSKBN22C1V4 https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/12/...opec-russia-saudi-arabia-oil-coronavirus.html It was a good deal at the time and needed - Trump did the right thing. However, the other nations haven't increased production since, but they will when the deal expires in April. The U.S. began increasing production last year and will be back to pre-pandemic levels by the end of the year. IF the war ends soon, we'll likely be back to pre-pandemic gas prices by the end of the year. Unfortunately I don't see the war ending soon..but regardless the current gas prices would still be at current levels no matter who the President is.
first, let me congratulate you on posting something that isn’t a stupid YouTube video. Consider this a participation trophy. Second, as to the substance of what you posted, is there something noteworthy or remarkable about four TEXAS democrats representing their constituents (like they are supposed to) by being pro oil and gas development? Third, in case you are raising this as some alleged example of a Biden order that has caused the current situation with gas prices, let me remind you again that this article relates to new development on federal leases. As has been explained to you and your dumb ass brethren several times: there are thousands of federal leases granted that have not been developed, so it’s not like the absence of new leases is holding companies back. any new meaningful development would take many years before first oil and most importantly, oil company executives still must choose to dramatically increase Cap Ex to pursue this new development and there is exactly zero reason for them to take that risk. Oil companies are doing very well with their current stock buyback plans and intelligent deployment of funds to produce in places like the Permian at close to zero risk compared to new development elsewhere. Unless of course you are suggesting that the Us government nationalize oil production? Or enact legislation to somehow force oil companies to develop? That wouldn’t be very Republican of you.
The price of oil was around $55 the day Biden took office. Why is Kirk saying it increased 500% prior to the Russian invasion? It hadn't even doubled
I dont care about Kirk, his dumb tweet just happened to be in the thread of the Trump prediction and the much better chart of gas (not crude) price increase during the Biden timeline.
Elections have consequences. The global market adjusted as soon as biden won due to his anti-fossil fuel stance. Grin and bear it.
It was in the chain, I quoted the chart underneath and it grabbed other responses. That's just how it is with twitter quotes sometimes. Doesn't really change anything. You woke up today to the highest gas prices in American history, right here, in Biden's America.
With all the uproar over gas and oil prices, the only tweet or article you could find contained an error of incredible magnitude? Anyway, what could Biden (or any president) do today to significantly lower gas prices?
