I don't see how Banchero is not comparable to Cade they have a lot of the same skillset except for outside shooting, Banchero is nothing like Randle or Griffin he is much more skilled with the ball in his hands and as a passer coming out of college. Mobley is the only guy that is on these guys' level IMO and Green is not really that comparable to Ivey considering where they will be by draft time. For a draft that is supposed to be deep you should have 3 guys that are in debate of being all NBA during their playing days.
You think he’s slow? Literally goes against every scout and every video out there. That’s what makes him special, his movement skills for his size is elite. He is a better athlete than Banchero. He routinely beats transition defenses down court without the ball and with the ball.
They don't play the same position. Cade played PG for the Cowboys and was clearly going to be a playmaking wing in the NBA. Banchero plays PF for Duke likely will on the next level as well. Cade's game is entirely face up for the most part, Banchero can post around the rim. Cade is often the primary ballhandler for the Pistons and starts the offense behind the three point line, I doubt Banchero will do that. If anything, I expect Banchero to be the one setting picks. I'm not comparing Banchero to Randle or Griffin's college careers, but what their strengths are in the NBA. They are PFs with good scoring ability, ballhandling, and passing with shaky three point shots. Their lack of rim protection was an issue that you don't concern yourself with in regards to guards/wings like Luka or Cade, but it'll be an issue with Paolo guaranteed. Don't get me wrong, I like him a lot. I just think he and Cade will have very different roles and expectations.
Charlotte looks like the Rockets with the way their offense operates. Lots of simple dribble hand off stuff very little movement. Guys going one on one taking tough shots.
You are right about Cade being mainly face up but I think Banchero will be more like Cade than Randle or Griffen he will not be in the post a lot. Banchero should never be thought of as 5 or a rim protector so I don't know why it will be an issue and since when have top picks been downgraded for rim protection when they can do everything from an offensive standpoint? It's one of the weirdest negatives I have ever seen about a guy like Banchero who is more of a 3 than a 4 anyway and should never be charged with rim protecting in the 1st place. I really have no idea why rim protection and Banchero are even in the same sentence. This is not really talking about you I just never understood why this has been a thing since before the season started. Him being compared to Melo as being a negative is also something I never understood.
slow first step** it's the twitch athleticism that (to my viewing) appears to be missing I may well be wrong!!! I often am
