https://som.yale.edu/story/2022/over-200-companies-have-withdrawn-russia-some-remain As a shareholder and customer I'm pretty pissed at John Deere and Cat right now
From bloomberg today: “Investors have been telling [oil companies] not to invest so much. Well, this is a crisis, we should be investing more,” said John Hess, chief executive of Hess Corp, a big US shale oil producer. “We’ve had five years of under-investment and we’re paying for it now.” …
The administration did not chill domestic production. There are 35 Billion barrels worth of proved oil reserves. They have access to drill and pump these. Due to market conditions because of COVID the companies stopped producing. They failed to ramp up production when demand increased. One reason is because they were making money hand over fist. Another is they said it was not financially advantageous. Yes, there are other reasons, but they could have ramped up production at any time.
Wow and the administration didn't even demand dirt on a political adversary to broker this deal? Losers!
It looks like Poland has called biden's bluff. Now there's an article out saying that the US is scrambling to see if they can even transfer the planes to Ukraine. That it was apparently a surprise because they knew that they were just talking out of their ass anyways the Biden administration I mean. Again this is just another black guy for the United States and it really makes me question how moral they are in the upper government which is not very moral apparently if they don't find a way to give Ukraine those planes but I don't know what I'm going to do man I'm so sick of this ****. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/us...sion-give-it-fighter-jets-ukraine-2022-03-08/
Oh it don't look like it's going to happen anyways because Biden was talking out of his ass like he always does sideways.
They can't deliberately do that (Congress has investigated this several times over the past 30 years), but it is a second order consequence. Won't explain further because it's an obvious political derail to the topic of Ukraine.
tl;dr there isn't direct collusion that oil majors are price gouging, but the "way the industry is set up" is highly fragile and can shift from international down to local "competitive pressures". They pretty much pick and choose how much they can get away with wink wink collusion and hide behind dipshittery when investigators or Senate inquiries come along.
Um read the article and don't just browse it. The decision by Warsaw to offer its fleet of Soviet-era MIG-29 fighter jets to the United States set experts in the U.S. government scrambling for information on the legal constraints around the retransfer of the jets to Ukraine.
Not only that but I've been listening to cnn 24/7 not one of them have mentioned this information. I'll be really surprised if Ukraine gets those planes honestly.
What are you trying to say? I think you posted about this 2 or 3 times and I read those posts a number of times. I don't understand what you are saying. I read the article.
