They'd be better off blaming it all on Obama, but these folks feed off of commentators who weren't afraid of loving Russia('s petro money) earlier this year.
He's just not going to process it. The pandemic caused a super squeeze during a super high demand period that was caused by the OPEC issues that occurred pre-pandemic. They intentionally killed the oil market and stated as much. Then pandemic hit and all these people got stuck with tons of oil they couldn't store and had to pay to give it away. People who ignore that are doing it intentionally for political reasons. It's honestly hilarious that people pretend all the debate and discussion around Saudi's stated intention to kill American shale production and them laying out how many years they could absorb a loss on oil to make sure they achieved this goal never happened.
Seriously, JFC. Six weeks ago through the beginning of the invasion, JD Vance didn't care what happened to Ukranians, Laura Ingraham called Zelensky a weak sniveling coward of a man, the Trump people had been pushing idea that Ukrainians were corrupt and interfered in elections because they wanted a democrat who would support them over Trump, Tucker Carlson openly said he rooted for Russia, Greg Gutfield was accusing Biden of wag the dog politics and didn't think Putin would invade, Candace Owens was expressing shock that Putin was invading a country and wanted to do more research before she definitively called him a liar, Fox was running out analysts attacking Biden and Ukraine to get corrected by Jennifer Griffin, Trump was calling Putin a genius... Like I don't really have a lot of respect for people who sucked this **** down.
As an "OG outsider", I would've thought the insiders would know how low margin shale oil is and needs a certain price range to be viable. He has some point that stimulating the market with expensive subsidies would grease the wheels for more future drilling when market prices are below that range, since we're paying them to do work ABOVE COST. But how is that a Free Market principle? At best, you can spin it as securing future oil supplies (NOT energy indepenendence...MAYBE defending national security interest), but we've known for years that refinery capacity has a greater influence on prices at the pump, yet it's even more low margin and has consolidated to the point where they benefit off of tight low inventory supply chains. When something blows up at a refinery, they still profit while we all pay for it. Will pumping more fed money help with that bottleneck? To a point, until that spigot stops and they "consolidate" yet again by trimming off that fat for themselves. It's just a lazy talking point that hasn't been changed over 2-3 decades ago. Is it legit that they need money now? Maybe, but they've always asked/lobbied/publicized the need for handouts even when they don't. If they want the benefit of the doubt, need more facts.
I feel like I'm being misinformed, or gaslit. I hear at one point that Russia is losing massive forces and are stalled, and then at the next point that Russia has circled Mauripol and that 300,000 people haven't had food or electricity or water for 8 days. I just don't know what to believe. Also, if I were poland I would not give my planes to Ukraine either given how the us has responded to Russia over Ukraine. Biden and the us don't have much confidence and the fact this is that the only thing keeping the hope alive is the stubborn and heroic efforts of the Ukrainians and their great president. I can't see how we are allowing this to happen without doing more.
It's obvious the pandemic was a gigantic factor, plus the 2020 crisis came up as some sort of deflection from the current crisis which has been caused mostly by Biden policy. Liberal pinballing at its finest.
https://news.yahoo.com/zelensky-says-responsibility-civilian-deaths-150520485.html I like Zelensky a lot and I'm really proud of him but I think this Ukrainian rhetoric is totally unfair. We've seen a lot of it from Zelensky and other Ukrainians. Shaming the West for essentially refusing to get into direct conflict with Russia. The West has done a lot for Ukraine and should be grateful for what we have done. The United States and the West is not responsible for making sure nothing bad ever happens to anyone anywhere in the world. It's an outrageous standard. Take a look around the world. How many horrible things are occurring all over everyday, yet, if the U.S. isn't doing something about it, we bear responsibility? What was Ukraine doing for all the victims of war, famine and genocide across the globe before they were invaded by Russia? F**k off with that.
Well, sure: but the point is that these reports usually follow as an example of wow either Russia can't win the war or that it is only a matter of time till Russia takes over the country, and both of them can't be true. It either has to be one or the other, with that but you have any number of EX retired us military generals or whatever that'll say well they can't see how Russia is going to win because this and that and the other and then you'll have somebody else come and say it's a catastrophe and this and that and the other. I mean I don't know what the hell to think anymore. But I did read somewhere where they said that Poland is now willing to give their fighter jets to Germany and that Germany can give them to Ukraine, which I hope that's true and not a lie.
Looks like the US finally brokered a deal to get Polish MiG-29s to Ukraine. Yet another reminder of why having a competent executive branch is important.
Can you guys keep the US domestic oil price covid history and Biden b**** fight in the Biden thread instead of here?
It looks like this could be on the verge of winding down, if the North Atlantic globalist elites will stand aside and allow it. Ukraine says no longer insisting on seeking NATO membership Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky said he is no longer pressing for NATO membership for his country, a delicate issue that was one of Russia's stated reasons for invading its pro-Western neighbour, AFP reports. In another apparent nod aimed at placating Moscow, Zelensky said he is open to "compromise" on the status of two breakaway pro-Russian territories that President Vladimir Putin recognised as independent just before unleashing the invasion on 24 February. "I have cooled down regarding this question a long time ago after we understood that ... NATO is not prepared to accept Ukraine," Zelensky said in an interview aired on Monday night on ABC News. The alliance is afraid of controversial things, and confrontation with Russia," the Ukraine president added. Referring to NATO membership, Zelensky said through an interpreter that he does not want to be president of a "country which is begging something on its knees."
They're not giving them to Germany. They're being given to the US and delivered to the Rammstein base in Germany. We're giving Poland F-16s in return. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/worl...s-ukraine-asks-for-help/ar-AAUNgV1?li=BBnb7Kz
Well garsh. U kno libs leik me luuuvvvs hand outs so me n ur oil buddees shud get along wee wee well.
This isn't about NATO. NATO already exists on Russia's borders and will "expand" across Russian borders if they conquer and annex all of Ukraine. You've fallen for the wrong party line, comrade.
They're basically spreading the responsibility around to US and Germany which is what Poland is doing. Of course why they're going to Germany is because us has an air base in Germany so yes I understand that the US are ultimately the ones that they are giving them to but Germany is where they're going to be housed and that's what I was referring to.
