He posts up a lot and that's how he is going to iso where he is a threat to score - until he learns to hit an open J when he has to work on. Otherwise he's not going to be too effective around the elbow.

And Iso is a key part of every championship team. It's just an effective shot when you need it against a crazy good defense in the playoffs. Durant, Curry, Chris Paul, Lebron - they all iso in big games.

Key part and being the primary offense are two different things.
The most stagnant GS offense was when KD went iso. When he played within the offense they scored just as well.
Yes, there are times that star players need to take over. They need time to develop those skills for sure. Alp and Green are the only young players that have the potential to become that type of player.

Iso is part of the development but so is ball movement and cutting and finding the open man. The balance is skewed towards iso. I think that has to do with Wood as well, killing ball movement and making other players feel that they won’t get the ball back if they give it away.

Sengun’s post up is probably the best play rockets have in terms of points scored per play, fouls drawn and ball movement. Guards however are reluctant or incapable to pass him the ball even if he has an obvious mismatch. This is very bad, particularly it is Tate doing it because when he gets the ball outside he almost has no good options with Sengun clogging the paint and Tate is not very creative other than bullying his way in.

On a side note Sengun’s p&r defense looks much better as well. I guess the guards are also learning not to make an automatic switch with Sengun.

I feel like one of the issues Alperen has is his ability to finish PnR's decisively. He has the tendency to hold the ball and go into a post up position when he catches it going towards the basket. I think he's afraid of getting it blocked.

He desperately need a Jokic like floater or strong finish to the rim when he is the roll man. Because what he's doing now make him miss more than make on those easy attempts. It's like he's making his own life harder by doing too many fakes.

I agree. I liked the pick and pop he did last night. Didn’t go in but if he could hit that consistently it would open up drives.

one way to improve this would be to play him less minutes...people learn best by watching from the bench

He had mentioned Jokic to be the player he studies a lot. So there is hope for a floater.
He is too shy to take shots for some reason. His shooting form is definitely good enough to take more shots.

definitely but I would say he needs to improve the spin fadeaway. There is like a hitch. More Hakeem lessons.

Sorry to be that guy, but that's not a great shot.

He has to be much more decisive.

i saw alpi hits an excellent floater once or twice earlier in the season

lack of playing time practice ie repetitions... hes stucked..needs to hit g league, play 35 minutes a night and unlock himself...

do you understand that mayority of nba layers played 50% minutes more this year than alpi...of course he took a step back....

you know which shot also is not great ?
    a stepback 3
    TAKE THAT FOR DATA

you need to be more intelligent...

there was nothing indecisive about that possession hes just being shifty and keeping multiple options open to fool the defense...hes being methodical about his attack and patient...luka doncic style...

its like a guy is doing a hesi move and the critics say you need to be more decisive...well the point of hesi move is juts that- indecisiveness so to confuse the defense and get the edge

and the spirit of possesion was yanisesque.... sengun is already better at beating his man to basket than anyone on the rockets...hes natural at it and doing it with ease..and look at the handles in the halfcourt full of people...hes also the best on rockets at reading the defense and passing

he needs to be lead guard on the rockets, yanis style, or some other team if rockets are stupid enough not to do it...

he needs playing time the most....to try out the things and polish...
rockets are beyond stupid... they got the generational talent and this year he already played 50% less minutes than half of the league... less playing time equals regression...

Sengun has the potential to be KD level? That's interesting

Nope. It's Sengun's job to move his feet better on defense & stop fouling. The reason hes not playing is because his own doing

what has kd ever done to get that untouchable hype?
if he didnt joined warriors dynasty hed never won anything....playing his entire career on stacked teams and only have 2 titles to show up for it (by joining 73 wins team of 4 allstars)....and even then he needed scott fosters to save his ass vs rockets shorthanded by the injury...smh
