You are not gonna get dollar-for-dollar fair value for Watson. He is a franchise QB. Take the best offer from a team he is willing to go to and hope to hit on half the draft picks you get in return. Realistically that’s the best case scenario.
Stafford went for 2 firsts. Low firsts because of the talent of the team. Watson is younger with a much larger cap hit. Similar level production with Watson having more upside due to age. 3 first with one being top 6, an additional 2 and 3 is probably the lowest I’d be willing to go.
I'm telling you that the situation Deshawn is in is totally different, and that just because other teams have made bad trades does not mean they will continue to. None of those guys were a distressed asset like Watson is and will be, and those trades are outliers and desperate moves and were widely laughed at. I am not saying somebody will not give up 3 1st but you said what's the most a team can give up and start from there, which is what I am pushing back against. He also is not open to the highest bidder which complicates things as well.
Stafford did not have the legal drama hovering over him, and those 1st are going to be in the lower part of the 1st, are you ok with that? Stafford also signed off on the trade.
I’m agreeing with you. That Caroline package I think is about what we can get. Maybe a bit on the low side. Im not sure we can get more, all things considered.
Damn, Wilson with Jeudy, Sutton, Hamler, and Fant is gonna be nasty…. Javonte Williams at RB. Mahomes, Herbert, Wilson, Carr… what a division
The NFC is there for the taking. If I was Watson, I would go to the NFC. It’s the easiest path to the Super Bowl. Only Rodgers and maybe Murray stand in your way.
