You're posting positive news about Biden. I'm confused.

I did say that Biden would get a bump from the SOTU and so far I think most Americans support how he's handled the Ukraine situation. There is still so much uncertainty that things can change very quickly so I wouldn't put much stock in approval ratings now.

To add I really hope Biden doesn't look to approval ratings to make decisions and so far I don't think he has.

The US doesn't have a government run oil company. If companies want to drill they are free to drill. Most shareholders are interested in making profits so companies aren't drilling like crazy. Maybe they have finally learned something.

Huge difference from the reality TV guy who worried more about ratings and getting Putin's approval than doing the right thing.

I think one of the rare advantages of having a 79 year old President is that he doesn't look at everything from the perspective of what is best for his re-election. I am sure it is something he considers, but at 79 years old he is likely less concerned about a second term than he would have been even 5 years ago.... he has made a few decisions that were arguably the right decision but cost him politically.

"To both parties, though, probably the key driver of his decline is dissatisfaction with the country's overall direction, particularly on inflation, the lingering disruptions created by the coronavirus and, particularly in larger cities, crime and homelessness."

This is really the whole article.... why are independents cool on Biden.....

When people are not happy with the general climate in the country, the party in power gets the blame (right or wrong) and that is happening now with Biden.... it is a double edged sword though.... if Americans put the COVID issue behind them and there is a more noticeable return to normal, Biden will likely be given credit and the benefit for it, when he arguable does not deserve it.

I just spent 4.79 for gas, that’s more than I paid for diesel during the last crunch. This won’t end well for Biden I fear

I think it depends on how long it goes on for.

He can likely withstand a week or two.

If anything, his Presidency has shown that voters are very fickle with Biden overall.

They are discussing opening up other routes to get crude into the USA in the short term.... however the devil is in the details.

Will that justify him strolling into a meeting without wearing any pants and crop dusting GOP leaders?

    STAY TUNED

Well now out of nowhere the GOP is shifting to a war footing and essentially daring Biden to get us into a war. "Not doing enough!" "no fly zone!"

Not shocking...... they know that he will not send in troops or agree to a no fly zone, and 90% of them would not either.... but it may score them some points politically with voters.

I don't see them worrying about being hypocritical, why should they? They have done well under Trump as a major influence on the party.

Right exactly. I'm no dummy. They are now acting like we should be doing more only because they know we wont and they can say they would have even though they never had to face the consequences.

They won't worry about being hypocritical, but maybe they should worry about starting something they can't stop nor control.
