Yeah, I know Green could be more assertive in wanting the ball but alot of it has to do with playing with 4 other dudes who are looking for theirs at all times. Notice he moves alot more and with more conviction when Sengun and JC are out there. Schroder too. That's why I believe we need an actual pg
Another "accurate statement" from booby Green is at least a few years away from being an NBA caliber player.
that's what im seeing but still reluctant to accept - Jalen aint THAT guy he got tons of talents, he love to share, its nice, but obviously too easy-going, a real leader should be a narcissistic A hole (mj, mamba n all other bossy gamer) who never give a **** to others' feelings, dunt know how to hide their desire to up the ladder, can't wait to prove himself (jalen is too much PATIENT on the contrary). a real leader, as a person, should easily arouse hatred from ppl around him/her, whenever stepping on the court, all teammates easily got stockholm syndrome to rely heavily on him, knee down obey his orders. i feel KPJ is the guy unfortunately he got no court vision, only tunnel vision lol. anyway, we could hardly collect all talents in one season, a bird in hand is worth two in the bush, at least Jalen is promising and will be an happy side-kick, he and us are now only waiting THE 'one in a million' narcissistic A hole.
He knows we just a Jabari away from a play in next year. He saw what the boys were about to do to the heat snd had to shut that **** down. He was forcing KPJ to hobble on one leg just to keep the tank going
Not enough shots to go around for Jalen to launch 20 shots per game like folks want... Especially if the same team plus another stud comes via draft... Something gotta give... Everyone will need to brace for turmoil early next season unless a few trades happen...
Now we're expecting the rookie to be the team captain at age 20? That's nuts. And using his good character as a knock against him? I guess if you've gotta find something Shaq won titles, he wasn't that way. Tim Duncan. Dirk. You don't have to be a sociopath to win championships.
You are going to have to have players who are ok with just spacing the floor and know that they are not going to get many shots in some games. I think whoever fills the roles of Tate, Christopher, nwaba will need to understand that. We have to many people who need to create for themselves and have the ball in their hands to be useful and not enough people to distribute the ball. You also are going to have difficulty having 2 guards who need the ball like kpj and green while still being able to feed the post for someone like senguin.
I didn't have a problem with Silas taking Jalen out or the amount of time he left him out (probably the 1st time ever - lol) although I wish he would have let him play out the rest of the 4th quarter. Jimmy Butler from early in the 1st quarter on was CONSTANTLY either trying to make double moves or pump fake shots and jump into Jalen to pick up foul no. 2 and then 3. He's very good at it too and I think if they left JG in much longer in the 1st quarter he would have gotten foul no. 3. It's hard playing defense on Butler. Lowry also is very good at the "pump-fake, jump into your man" move! I give to Jalen though, he was smart enough to back off and try and stay on the floor after that. But after Herro started going off when Jalen came back in he had to play off him and Herro was already cooking and just stayed that way! Jalen was even playing more passively on offense after that. Probably worried ab out getting a charge. I thought there were SEVERAL bad calls by the refs that went against us. It's just going to take time. Jalen's learning to play pretty good defense and once he gets more comfortable with it he'll need to learn to play "smart, effective defense" when he's in foul trouble. I REALLY wish Silas would have left him in the last 4 or 5 minutes though to get his confidence back.
I couldn’t disagreed more. The best Jalen right now is unselfish Jalen. If he starts with a scoring mentality his efficiency will go down, then his confidence, before you know it he will force shots and build bad habits. He’s a rookie he needs to learn the game of basketball, make the right passes, reads, defense etc. so when his shot ain’t falling he’s not useless. Besides he’s getting plenty of shots, we don’t need him to turn him into a Kobe, I rather he be a D-wade type. Let’s not forget he’s rookie and is starting to play worthy of that #2 pick. the rush for him to be taking over games is silly.
an unselfish person could never turn into a SELFISH (the A hole) one, but on the contrary a selfish person can learn to SHARE. also, what i was talking about is LEADER, not ordinary players.
I believe Green and Porter is playing well and our rebuilding is going well. We do not need Wood! Sengun at Center and Jabari or Chet at Power Forward and maybe we draft Kessler with the Nets Pick…..to backup Sengun. If our young guard are developing maybe we would allow Wall to start with Porter and Green next year? I would trade Wood and Tate to Charlotte for their FRP this year and try to get Jovic from Serbia or Baldwin from University of Milwaukee. Starting lineup: Porter Green Wall Chet or Jabari Sengun Porter is a star player if he plays aggressive and do not think about being a point guard. I really believe Porter and Green is really a star back court tandem…Sengun and Jabari or Chet would be crazy….I believe we are 1 draft away…to get in the Play In Playoffs
just as we can see JayGup is a real baller by observing on his games, he play calmly and making right moves/decisions, its the same, we can find out which one could be a leader, as a leader got many traits, one of them is SELFISHNESS, jalen should constantly demand ball and shoot.
Yep… This is also part of the reason why I’d like to see a real pg with the starters. And replace Tate with someone like KMJ who is mostly spot up 3s, transition and cuts. All that said, the biggest problem with this team is not their offense. They usually can score enough points to win games. The Rockets are dead last in defensive rating by a good margin. And then on top of that they are one of the worst teams at rebounding and stopping second chance points in the situations where they do actually manage to get stops. They also allow the most points in the paint and the most fast break points in the league. Their offense needs to take a leap big time, I think the avenue to do that is more clear. But this off season the Rockets have to figure out what they are going to do defensively.
So true, and this will continue until players find out what there best roll on a team is. We have so many young guys who are still figuring this out. Also, we have selfish me-first vets. Consolidation trades would sure help though.
