High gas prices are good for Houston's economy. It will encourage less driving and less carbon pollution, and more EV adoption. What's not to like?
I think back in 2008 I posted that I support high gas prices for the reasons that you cite. I remember getting pilloried for that.
It's beyond absurd that domestic production hasn't been loosened up by now. For what? For the sake of the the Green New Deal? Priorities have to be re-shuffled in real time, based on current needs and demands. The transition away from fossil fuels needs to be phased in anyway. Considering the Left's modus operandi is the whole purported sanctimonious, we care for the little people, greater good approach - how in the world are the people you supposedly care about, with lower paying jobs, able to afford gas to commute daily to their work?? On top of the inflation that is making everything else expensive as well? It's just not smart.
I will say again that we as a country aren't prepared to fight a sustained war against a major adversary. The inflation and other problems were experiencing now will pale if this does grow into an all out war against Russia.

Yeah, I drive a hybrid and haven't seen much pain compared to a dude who drives a pickup. But I want to live driving a pickup with a flatbed I rarely use!! Like any other status symbol where you pay more for gas, you'll have to survive paying more off the pump...
