Maybe because of immature comments like these? Or subtle racist comments like these? You really think your label is unwarranted?
This game shows, why I wanted him over Mobley. Because he can create his own shot and he is clutch. Mobley is probably the better all around player, but Green can be the go to man that gives you a basket, when you need it - that you can give the ball when the game is on the line. And to me, that is the most important piece on a contending team - and the most difficult to find. Now let’s hope he can finish this season this strong and doesn’t get into another down bad stretch of games…
Bad stretches are ok, even Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain had them. He's gotta run into a wall some nights against elite defensive coaches or teams or himself. Happens to the best of them. I hope like you said though that it doesn't turn into a long stretch and he averages 20/4/4 to finish. Btw a few weeks ago I suggested these post ASB numbers and it was treated as outlandish by several people. Y'all gotta start believing.
I'm not really gonna put my 2 cents in on my perception of him, enough people have chimed in on that. However the amount of people who have been excited over his struggles and calling anybody who wants to defend him GOF's, has been really f**king aggravating.
Nah he knows. Atleast i hope so. Thanks for digging up some of the asinine comments. Dude may not directly called him a bust but he sure had a few things to say. It's pointless tho. I'm sure he's just one depressed mfer and this is his only place to vent. I'm certain no guy his age would feel the need to hate on a 20yo (ON HIS OWN TEAM) if he weren't.
things are starting to open up since he started taking that mid-range. Can't overplay him at the basket because he might just stop and get a 15 foot uncontested jumper. These anti-midrange nerds are livid.
EDIT: Misread your original post. First one yep - I'm just as petty as the die hard JOFs who bury their head in the sand and don't actually read comments but choose to believe a narrative they've made up in their head. Second one. Nice try. There's nothing racist in that. Good effort though, try harder to try to dig up and label something racist that's not there. When did society turn to accepting the term racist just being thrown around? Was it during Trump? Was it during Obama? Honestly. Society is going downhill with this trash. Make a joke. Nope. Racist. Make a joke. Nope. You're a nazi. Make a joke. Nope you're Hitler. Pepperidge Farm remembers when not everyone claimed another person was a disgusting word with no basis whatsoever.
Obviously it's a small sample but since Feb (14 games) Jalen has been shooting 56.4% with 2 point shots. That is flat out elite for a perimeter player. I hope he continues to develop this because it will add so much depth to his offensive repertoire. https://www.basketball-reference.com/leagues/NBA_2022_totals.html#totals_stats::fg2_pct
Well, I will give you credit, you actually do admit that you are petty enough to spend your time on an internet basketball forum making fun of a teenager. It doesn't matter either way, I'm not going to derail this thread any further, and I'm not really here to judge how you spend your time.
then they want to be a victim and turn around and claim they’re not Jalen Green haters when they get called out…it’s honestly amusing to see them squirm and try and backpedal
Yes Sir! Name of the game is put the ball in the hoop. Guys who can do that at will in the NBA are rare. If Jalen's defense continues to improve the way it has it makes the argument a personal preference debate and both sides can amicably coexist. Hopefully ALL Rocket fans can learn to support Jalen fully without all the slander and malicious comments when he struggles. Jalen will be an elite scorer in the NBA and has shown enough for even the most casual fan to have some optimism. I think he will be a household name that will make all Rocket fans proud, and maybe one day even the Mobley guys will be able to come around. Jalen playing well sure helps and makes all the guys like you who stood firm and kept it positive feel validated.
I fee like even by eye test his iso defense has been very very good in the past couple of months. I am comfortable letting him guard the other team's best backcourt player unless they are way stronger. Green is really fast at navigating screens and staying in front of his man no matter how quick they are, and I don't really remember the last time he really got burned on multiple possessions.
I agree about the point that 60% was not real Green hate, at least not for me but to people that came out of the looney bin, pushing all kind of buttons.... Behaving like Green is the holy Jeebeezus himself and could walk on water especially when he was playing at a bad level in the beginning. Behaving like Green gives them a cut or something when he goes All-Star or something. Flat out nuts. Grow up and go adulting IRL to those people. Both sides have been hunting/catfishing each other to be honest. There is no innocence on both sides. If we all back to normal business and Rockets winning (tanking) games, that would be good.
How booby best puts it. It's fun for him if he gets it right on his sht take (according to some of us) regarding green. It's fun for the rockets community if he's wrong. Either way it's a win for him.
Not sure you're going to fool anybody with this when you've been over-the-top hating on this kid for months. We've all seen it. Just take the L and move on.
