I believe Russia is the first world power to face sanctions so your question is non-sensical.

No war and it leads to the end of South Africa's apartheid.

But will it work against Putin? Probably not. He set up a system to protect him and he has plenty to survive. It will however seriously degrade his military ability to expand further than Ukraine... if he's even able to get out of that mess.

The best option is to push for more alternative renewable energy resources, and to conserve.

It was always the right decision and now there is added incentive.

The barrier is costs. Oil was so cheap that it was not possible to exercise those permits without losing money. Now that price of oil has gone up I will imagine the oil industry will start. So the people b****ing at the government are either ignorant of that fact or being intellectually dishonest. It is easier to be the later when some of your base is so blinded by their hatred for the other side they become easily manipulated

Piss off, it is not nonsensical you making all these major BS leaps to other world leaders as evil which are not even close to the same level as this...the only thing that is close is Hitler, and Japan - where it is world powers.....

And yes.....guess what? We put sanctions on Japan and they attacked us.......that is 100% relevent.

I know you want to avoid war at all costs, and I think so do the rest of us......but I think this ends in a direct conflict with Russia.....and Sanctions will be one of the causes of it....

Not saying we should do anything else, but that is what I think will happen.

And, you can keep trying to reach for the "US Hates Brown people" points you are so desperately trying to insinuate.....and ignore the fact that this is different...even if your overall point rings true.....it is not relevant here.

WTF are you talking about? We left Afganastan because TRUMP put that in motion and Biden executed, there was no clean way out. We should have left 15 years ago.

This is the Ukraine - different situation please try to keep up.

Also, as a young man, learn to ****ING READ - I said, no one wants war, that includes me....I am saying that I THINK it will end in a direct conflict.....that's all.....and history supports that viewpoint because we had sanctions on Japan in 1940......you should have paid attention in school junior, then I wouldn't have to keep ringing the school bell to take you to class.

And, if we end up in war, I believe the Russian people will support whomever is invading their country as they did with the Germans at the start of WW2.....the problem will be whether they push the button.....that is the question.....and the ONLY question, IMHO.

Mom, please make the chicken friends go to class!

Last time we drill more - OPEC+ purposely plummet the price down to $20 to drive the American industry out.

OPEC+ has been holding us hostage and playing around with us because of our dependency on oil. The faster we get away from that, to renewable, the more freedom we have. All the roadblocks and pushback from Republicans over the last decade have slowed our effort to get out of being a slave to oil. Worse, we are dependent on two States that have never aligned with our values - Putin Russia and Mohammed Salman Saudi.

What does biden/trump have to do with your support of the move. It’s amazing youre the one asking people to read, we spent pages arguing about your support back then for the withdrawal.

also you have a next to nothing understanding of geopolitical conflicts, wtf do you think instituting a no fly zone means (which you have advocated for in multiple posts) “bUT I DoNT wNT WaR”

do everyone a favor and stick to video games and cheetohs, this is beyond your scope.

You can perform whatever mental gymnastics you need to rationalize your need to go to war. But you are a hypocrite plain and simple and that's all I am pointing out. For some reason you empathize with the Ukrainian people over other people and want to help them. It's not about democracy, it's not about humanitarianism, it's about you.

So with all due respect, I'm not going to support your reckless risk war and possibly nuclear for your emotions. This isn't any different. It's not different than Yemen, Georgia, Chechnya, Congo, and on and on and on. That's the lie you can't admit to yourself - that the only reason this is different is that you identify more with the Ukrainians than you did the others. End of story.

And your understanding of history is seriously flawed. We sanctioned Japan to push them to war with us, not to try to stop them - so yes, they actually did work.

Where have I advocated for a NO-FLY zone? I said this will lead to direct conflict and have asked the question about whether we should to drive discussion.

I have not ADVOCATED for war - but I do think we would crush them, in under a week......the problem as Lou has said is the nukes, I acknowledge that.....I also don't believe that Putin will use them.

Why are you even living here if you hate the US so much? And this is 100% false, we tried to deny Japan the oil it needed to continue it's growth, our country wanted NOTHING to do with another world conflict......

Also, I AM NOT ADVOCATING WAR - stop ****ing transference conversations and read....

I am saying that war is inevitable.....IMHO - and that we should be planning and building for it......I would give sanctions a chance to work - of course and see.....

But Sanctions always lead to war when you are sanctioning an equal power......just my .02

I am not a WAR advocate - hate war - but history suggests we will be going to war.....

You just don't like that, and are burying your head in the sand ......I get it.....and hope it doesn't.

Exactly, I didn’t read your earlier post but it’s not a coincidence we and others have come to the same conclusion.

Saw that already - but she fails to discuss the general population rising up - and just talks about Oligarths and strong men.

Got a mouse in your pocket chicken little? The royal we?

You are just pissed that I said the 350k Afgans should have stood up for their own country - and beaten the 70k taliban, and you couldn't change opinions of those of us who said and believed that.

All these people transferring their anger and making **** up........can't have a civil discussion about where this is headed.......
