Our German speakers attested he was an ahole but John Lucas has been one heck of a tutoring ahole....so.
Well, I think JC was hurt by lack of consistent minutes and Sengun. They are both inconsistent but all rookies are. It's going to take some time before we see what is their real baseline.
The blocks...I know its insane to think this...but remind me of D.Wade kind of blocks. His blocks remind me of Wade and how Wade would get a ton of blocks for a guard. His defensive improvement overall has been amazing. I didn't see m uch of the game last night but the one before that I saw several times where he shut down a lane and turned back a player. Now imagine him doing that being a little stronger and having an actual rim protector behind him and not a guy that would give up 30 and 10 to Chuck Hayes.
Blocks does not tell the whole story. I never thought Lebron was such a great defender because he could chase anybody down with his superior athleticism. It is flashy but one has to get down to the basics and work D one on one. Some of the Rocket's D has never been really bad overall but they only play them for 2 or 3 quarters.
In my opinion, Green is going to be a superstar. I dont think we see him truly developed until 2024-2025 but crazily he will only be 22 to start that year. Slow start and I'm sure there will be some setbacks but he has IT.
He's really improving faster than I imagined. I feel like the things I used to always complain about, he has addressed all of them. He's super active now on defense now both on ball and on help. He's way more patient on his drives, he doesn't sulk when shots don't go in. He also seems like a real likeable guy from what we hear people talk about him. He just gets along with everyone that he plays or interacts with. I also like that he seems to have great friends with other players in the NBA, Scottie Barnes, Ja Morant, Clarkson etc.
Senguin will struggle rest of the year I think. I think he enjoyed early season 1 on 1 opportunities but he will see more and more doubles, one bc he is dominating 1 on 1s but also bc he is a turnover waiting to happen with double teams. He needs to adapt to the doubles and understand what he should do then and his team needs to learn how to throw the ball in the post and know when to cut etc when senguin is doubled. One of the most underrated parts of horrys game was the ability to feed the ball to dream.
Wood is a good player. He is the best player on the team right now. I think if he was playing on a veteran team his skills would be more visible. Not comparing Wood to LeBron but just look how good LeBron is and the talent that surrounds him and what they are going through. I think the Rockets have a lot of promising pieces....they are just young! In 2yrs I think Green will be the goto but they way he's progressing....it could be next yr
It will be by middle of next year. I guarantee it!! Or CXbby will drink a bucket of c*m. His own secret sauce
Yes, but consider for a moment that if your 19 yr old rookie is having constant double teams thrown at him, you've got a pretty f*ckin great rookie always, always.
Thought it was the best draft out of all the teams back in July and it's looking more and more that way. I really want to see Green and Sengun play more minutes together.
Nice. Are these full season stats? He was horrid in isolation to start the season, I think he's better than his season averages right now.
This was the same thing for G-league, but Silas wanted to ignore it and start him in the corner and play him to his weakness.
I guarantee if you broke down screens from Christian Wood compared to anyone else, that Green's stats would improve with "anybody else." Never seen a screener who sets screens like that for the sole purpose of themselves as much as that man.
