We’ve underachieved. We haven’t performed well. Season of a lot of lows more than highs. When we think about putting LeBron, Anthony and Westbrook together, two are top 75 players of all time and AD is a top 5 talent. We haven’t played good or smart basketball on either end of the court. We gotta win this game because we’re getting ready to go out on the road. All is not lost yet. We’re in 9th place. In 1991, we played poor up until the last two months of the season. Hopefully Anthony Davis will come back. Russell Westbrook, you gotta know there were expectations. You had to know it’s about championships when you put on the purple and gold. Stop battling the press. Take ownership and accountability. I’m tired of excuses. It’s time to take ownership.

SAS: Is he the guy you hold most culpable? Is it LeBron for bringing him here? Is it management? Is it Vogel?

It’s everyone. Defense has been bad. Offense, we’re standing too much. There’s no ball movement, no player movement. Vogel has to coach better. Players have to play better. Westbrook knows he has to play better. The Lakers gave up a lot to get him. They could have had DeRozan or Hield and been a much better team. He has to step up to the plate and play championship basketball.

I’m hoping so. Anthony Davis is gonna be the key to that. The problem is we’re a slow basketball team. Teams are killing us in transition. Pick & roll, we’re letting guys get career highs against us.

We haven’t played spirited basketball all season long. We have 12 individuals. We haven’t come together as a unit. We have no identity. Before Westbrook, defense defense defense. Caruso, KCP, we were about defense. Once we stopped you, got out on the break. I thought Westbrook would come with energy. Get the rebound, go coast-to-coast. We have to start seeing that. Where’s that Westbrook coast-to-coast dunking on people? And he hasn’t finished once he gets to the basket. I don’t know if he lost his athleticism, maybe he can’t explode anymore but he has to be better.

SAS: He’s been demoralized because he can’t shoot. Because he’s trying to shoot, they are chanting please don’t shoot. And I’ll tell you this, I do think all is lost.

Every team is playing zone on us. They’re daring everyone to shoot, not just him. All is not lost because we still have the play in game. If we can get to a series, yeah we’ll play GS or Phoenix but I’d rather be there. If not, this trade could go down as the worst in Lakers history.
