Green is a much better prospect than KPJ, not even close. He should be getting KPJ’s touches.

I don’t know if he hit 20. But with improved shooting stats maybe. Adding the KD range will help though because it makes him less predictable or Easter to defend. M
If he can get his shooting splits up to 44/35/80 on 15 shots a game, then thats the leap. But that midrange is what’s going to open things up. Oddly Green is making Wood more tolerable on offense. green. Isn’t setting him up for the long but he’s finding Wood via penetration underneath for rim and layup finishes. It shows some cohesiveness on offense becsue Green assist come through working the offense and not broken plays

I was. BYOB school fundraiser, and I brought a bottle of whisky.

The good news: I apparently paid an insane amount for three bottles of Wellers at the auction.

Down from day 1 cultists and apologists roll call - not many of us so check in! We started from the bottom now we here! LOL Our boy looking GREAT!!! Love to see it. Kid working in that middy. He's got that rip through euro in the bag now. HIS DEFENSE!! Once he becomes the true #1 and focal point of the offense WATCH OUT! So rewarding.

There were a lot of things JG came into the NBA not adequate enough at which was shocking to a lot of us. What also stood out immediately from watching him was the electric athleticism. His explosiveness, speed, and agility is breath taking. There just aren’t many guys that have the fluidity of movement he possesses. He’s a cat out there. When you see that and take into account the inexperience you evaluate what are some achievable goals for JG that will nudge him closer to being able to one day unlock his obvious physical talents. Studying film and practice are key and obviously he’s done that. That’s the mental/cerebral part of the game.

Now the physical part. Getting bigger and stronger is something all players as young as him achieve, working on his handle, and developing a floater and/or midrange. JG with more functional strength, a legit handle, and an in between game is a nightmare for opposing defenses. Unguardable. Thinking he won’t get stronger and that he can’t improve his handle makes no sense to me. Those 2 improvements alone make him a star and there is so much more room for him to grow and things for him to get better at. He has crazy upside as an offensive talent and has already proven that he can at least be competent defensively.

Most impressive game of the year

5 boards, 7 assist (1 TO) to go with a diverse offensive display

If he could develop into a guy that gives you 5 boards/assists consistently, while becoming the offensive threat he’s shown flashes of, we might have our selfs a Zach LaVine 2.0 in a few years

Its always a process with NBA scoring wings. Always. Sure NOW its easy to be calm and appreciative while voicing very valid basketball concerns, but Jalen was drug through the mud by a good portion of his own fans every chance they got. Just feels awesome to withstand that bogus support and feel some happiness for the kid. Im fully expecting some bad games to finish the year too because thats the nature of things. Nothing was going to be decided one way or the other in his first season so it was crazy to see so many guys needing their egos stroked early like that. We're gonna be just fine with Jalen as the alpha when this team is a winner and its time to contend for rings. "Yule C".

I think he's ahead of schedule relative to the likes of Lavine or Beal. I realistically can see Green averaging 20 on average to above average efficiency next season.

It took Lavine and Beal 4 and 5 seasons respectively to get to that point.

I think he can be a more skilled Lavine or a more explosive Beal.

You want to compare that to the 80s when there was no social media, hype that was handled differently?

With players that are Top 10 of All Time....and a Goat?

Now do not get me wrong......either one of Mobley or Green getting into the Top 40-50 of All time would be a success for either one of them.

For a "transcendent" and "generational" player Mobley looks rather pedestrian as of late. Hope he gets his second wind soon and finishes the year strong. Jalen is closing that gap! Cant be having a "bust" run up on the rookie of the year like that amirite? ;)

    No.
    1. There was no internet and sports radio wasn’t fully realized
    2. Akeem and the Rockets had immediate success
    3. Jordan wowed but the team didn’t perform well early. So there was no sense of buyer’s remorse

He's fairly similar to both rookie seasons, not seeing how he's ahead of schedule to them considering they all came in the league at 19.

    That's not exactly true

Beal took some time, but not LaVine (which is who I'm comping him to, as an ideal outcome for us). LaVine was above league average efficiency starting his sophomore season. Maybe you are really emphasizing raw ppg, but you have to remember LaVine played with Towns and Wiggins in a significantly lower scoring league at the time of his rookie/sophomore seasons.

If Green follows anything close to LaVine's career projection I'd be super happy, LaVine was a borderline all-star at 23, all-star at 25.

I mean you say Lavine but you guys can't even wait 50 games before calling someone's career over. so forgive me for not believing that the same people spewing that nonsense could patiently wait for the 165 games that it took for Lavine to get rolling
